Well all, we just got back and wanted to post up a little something on the USA's. One very cool week end!!! I'll be posting up allot of official and unofficial info during the week. Just to wet your appetite, women's heavy weight class winner joined us for a night out on the town on Sunday. (we didn't get in untill 6:30 in the morning!) She is very cool and I got to talk with her one on one about shop all night - and a dance or two She had tons of questions for us and YOU KNOW I HAD SOME QUESTIONS FOR HER! Paul D was sitting directly behind me during the night show, got in on a couple good conversations. I listened Monica B was there as were many, many top Pro, BBers and fitness women. Damn - just to much stuff and I'm DEAD tired, a whole two hours sleep and a five hour drive. It's food and bed time Good to be back ya all Late Lobo IP: Logged |

Ok, where to start. Well, I'll not repeat all the general info stuff, and no need to post up the winners. There is a good thread on the chat board that gave a good basic run down. Besides, youll hear all about them. So lets start off with the women's fitness observations. If your going to do fitness, GET YOUR POOP IN A GROUP! The competition is staggering. The shear numbers are both inspiring and terrifying. I really love seeing this sport taking off to the moon, on the other hand, many a lady is going to be disappointed when she does not make the cut. More than a few tears were shed over the weekend as my wife passed out a few tissues back stage. One new rule is NO OIL. That's right. Fitness competitors will not be allowed to oil up. To many women were slipping on stage in passed shows, some getting some nasty injuries. Tip: You better do something to make the judges remember you. After hours and hours of pre-judging, with SO MANY women, you just lose track of who is who. I tried to keep some notes but it was just impossible - the sheer numbers were overwhelming. Tip: SHOMENSHIP. You must sell the routine and sell it good. Get some props, rip of your outer clothes, something, anything, but make an opening statement - grab the audience. One lady from the top five came out in a wedding dress - DIFFERENT, got your attention. This round is quickly becoming the make or break for the top 10. DO NOT SLIP. Nail every move - make it crisp and sharp, it has to snap, if you can't do it perfect, change it. Do not slow down the tempo at the end... build to the end. Tip: Strength moves - not ONCE did I see a LEFT handed one arm pushup!!!! Why not??? Everyone is doing the right hand. Why do you want to be like everyone else??!?! One of the top ladies "walked on" with a handstand - now that is a bit different and got noticed. Tip: Get your music mixed by someone who knows what the hell they are doing. Bad edits and drops are not going to get you any points. Tip: Get your swimsuit tailored! This is a fricking 1/3 of your points! Make sure it is cut for you body and looks good - no scratch that. It has to look KILLER. Does the color complement your skin and hair? Tip: Shoes - spend a week walking in three inch heals! Your not doing yourself any favors if your tripping all over the stage. Tip: If you expect to place, dont come in shredded if you have to use a diuretic you have lost already (and this goes for womens bbing too). And at least try to have SOME calf muscles. Only saw two women who had what I would consider good balanced calf muscles and one lady who had a slight bit too much (finished 14th and I did get to talk with her for a bit at Golds). In fact, that is the first thing I look for. Has she taken the time to develop the ENTIRE leg? And lets face it, women generally have good backs so thats the last part I look at. Ok, my fingers are dead and I still have other stuff to do. ------------------ Lobo IP: Logged |

Tip..Do womens BodyBuilding its more about you and less about bullshit. Most of those Fitness Women are beefed up gymnasts anyway. And NO, you don't have to look like Vicki Gates to be good at it.

I was there...I thought I would be interested in only the fitness competitors as I'd never been to a live show. NOPE!!! I absolutely fell in love w/the female bb's. I was blown away...particularly by the light/middle weights. If possible I've just become more "serious" about my lifting. And the men...holy god...got invited backstage, met Monica B - briefly...saw other famous faces and bodies. It was a blast for me. A terrific first experience at a live show. And luckily sat next to a gal who was there by herself too...her bb friend joined us for the men's finals and he clued me into a lot of things I didn't understand. It was awesome. Lobo - what did you think of that freaky 8yr old? ------------------ IP: Logged |

WarLobo - Thanks for the update on the USAs! Would you believe, a lot of your tips/suggestions, I'm already/have done to prepare for my next show? I think it's "smart" for fitness girls to not use oil. Too dangerous! Believe me, walking in the heels are bad enough but adding oil to the task is just not worth spraining a leg over. Luckily, the shows I've been in, they wipe down the stage prior to fitness rounds. I always try to have something up my sleeve to make judges remember me! I'm good at walking in my shoes and when it comes to strength moves, I popped out "many" one arm push-ups in my last routine. Music can also make/break a routine. Get it together early! Also, try on different styles of swimsuits. Pick a color that "enhances" your beauty/physique. And, yes, I have calves!!!!! Thanks again WarLobo!!! ------------------ IP: Logged |

During one of the intermissions this kid that was on TV the other day came out and did his thing. Very impressive if not a bit to long. He is cut I'll say that, and dose have some great flexibility - but hell, his bones are not even connected yet. Would have liked to see him lift something. Guess we will have to see what happens in 10 years.... He may discover women by then and it may be all over for him! Now on to the women's BBing. Just great stuff. One hell of a lot of ladies on stage for this comp! I want to focus on the middle weight and the heavy weight. Big statement this year. You come in looking like Kim and your not going to win. Last year I think the heavy weight would have won. Bit bigger and solid in every fashion. Thicker and fuller. The middle weight had very good lines and lets not kid anyone, she was stunning. Just did not have the same size in proportion as the heavy. And this is where the judges made the line in the sand. To big will not get you the over-all any longer. To ripped and your not going in the top five. The HW said she used absolutely no diuretics for this comp. And came in around 6%, maybe 5% - gets hard to tell at that low of a level. Another HW who sat in the empty seat next to me for a few min said she came in at 3% (This is why she was sitting next to me during the night show....) Later in the weekend when the HW and I were talking at length, she was both disappointed and relieved at the same time. Of course she wanted that pro card. But at the same time was grateful that she would now not have to come in so ripped. We talked much about the dangerous of using water loss meds and I stressed the point that I was in total agreement with this new judging criteria. And in the end I think she knows the long term success of women's BBing is very important, she was just a little let down that it had to be her that was used as the example. At this low point I reminded her that if nothing else the entire forum was damn impressed and that I would bet a round of drinks that the judges know full well who you are now. I also told her that many pro BBers of today lost two, three, and four times at the USA's. And that one male winner took over 10 years! I would also like to say her husband was one HELL of a supportive guy too. He put in tons of time with her and helped in training, diet, everything one needs to compete at this level. Her entire support from family and friends is, I think, a key for success. It is just a must have thing in todays competitive environment.
We got prim seating down on the floor at C2K and all had a great time. Man did we do some dancing and drinking (I know - bad Lobo) But I only did shots of Tequila (16) and then drank a glass of water after each shot. Yes I remember everything! You want to talk about clearing some space on the dance floor - it was great. At 58, high heals, short mini skirt with a small strappy top thing, arms, back, legs all the way until tomorrow - good lord all mighty I was in a dream.... Now Im not so sure Id want the wife to be that big and such.... But you know, sure would be fun OK, Ok, ok. Back to business at hand fer I get myself in deep doo doo. We did get a bit of shop talk in and will up date here and there in other threads as I do not want to directly involve her in any way. And hopefully we will get a good e-mail exchange going and maybe even a guest post thread from her. But well just take it easy and play it by ear. The online thing can be a tad overwhelming and I dont want to have her flooded with more than she can handle.

One thing I found very interesting is the use of masteron. This seems to work well and I'll be looking more and more into it in the comming monthes. ------------------ Lobo IP: Logged |

Masteron, or drostanolone propionate, is a popular steroid among competitive bodybuilders. It is commonly used in contest preparation for many reasons. To begin with, drostanolone propionate is a derivative of DHT(dihydrotestosterone), and therefore, it will not aromatize into estrogen. Competing bodybuilders find this extremely beneficial because aromatization typically causes excess water retention which may give the muscles a smooth appearance. Another advantage of Masteron is its strong androgenic component. The androgenic effect of this steroid can cause a noticeable improvement in muscle density and hardness which can help the bodybuilder obtain the "ripped" look if his bodyfat percentage is low enough. The androgenic effect is also crucial because it helps to provide sufficent "kick" or "drive" for intense training when an athlete has lowered his caloric intake for contest preparation. Masteron can also be used successfully by bodybuilders preparing for a drug-tested show. The substance drostanolone propionate is fast acting and quickly broken down. The athlete can therefore use Masteron up to about ten days before a drug test. The average dosage of Masteron is 100 mg injected every other day. It is best to inject Masteron every 2-3 days because it has a short duration of effect. Popular steroids stacked with Masteron include Parabolan(trenbolone hexahydrobencylcarbonate), Winstrol(stanozolol), and oxandrolone. Athletes rarely experience any side effects with this steroid. Masteron is not hepatoxic, and gynecomastia should not be a concern since it does not convert into estrogen. Some possible side effects include acne, accelerated hair loss, and increased aggression. The main disadvantage of Masteron is its very poor availability on the black market and its high price. Masteron from Belgium comes in a box of two ampoules. Each 2 ml amp will contain 100 mg of drostanolone propionate. One of these boxes containing two amps can cost well over $50 on the black market..... REAL good stuff if you can find it LEGIT most fakes contain DECA. Lobo, Ever try Fina (cattle implants) it gives a and HARD,HARD muscle and low or no bloat at fraction of the cost and MUCH easier to get... ------------------ IP: Logged |
