MissG I am the queen of gadgets and if I got one of them there big balls lol It would end up in the pool as a toy. I really think all you need is you own bod and a couple of extra hand weights or plates (for extra weight) I really think your abs are one of the few places on the bod you don't have to have all kinds of gadgets. Of course Suzanne sommers might disagree!(yes I have those too) I quit buying all contraptions except good shoes, good gloves, good deoderant, and good bras!
peace ps goood gear!

I like to uh.. play with my boyfriends balls at the gym.
LOL, seriously though..I do use the med. sized ball for ab pikes (face down, ball under your quads, body streched out, hands down on floor like push-up position, roll ball forward with legs towards your hands.. like a reverse crunch) They're hard as shit, but work wonders.

ive never used and gadgets for my abs..and ive got my sixpack now (as seen on chat board). but ive seen those "balls" and i dunno, maybe. but if you stick to hanging leg raises, side crunches, twists, and crunches, i dont think you will be to bad of.

I do use one for crunches - my lower back is still weak and the ball seems to help. I think you can get them for under $15 at Walmart and it was worth it.

These balls have been used in Switzerland for use w/ physical therapy patients. They have a tendency to come/go in the fitness industry.

If you've never tried one, can you try one at your gym? That way you could see if it would work better than anticipated. Also, you would not have lost anything if you didn't like it.

To me, they are a refreshing change from the same ab workout.

I Really like my inversion boots. Mine were made by Spyder (called Hang-ups). If there ever were any gadget to get besides a block of chalk -consider inversion boots first.

Swiss Balls are like most other stuff... good for some variation... they really are better for rehab, since they take alot of the body weight... but if you are more advanced and can do hanging leg raises and such, you dont really need one

I mainly recommend them for people with bad/weak lower backs

I got a leather neck harness from when I was a kid, used it to build up my neck for wrestling and football. I still use it to this day (though Fitness Chick is begging me to stop)my neck is at 20 1/8 inches flexed plus with the elevated BP from AS raising rope like veins it makes my head look like it's ready to pop off,

Everyone should own one or these!!

Well of course Sky! What ever else would I be talking about

Getting bit more in tune with the thread, I like to use the ball for a good strech and some change up in my ab work. Let me tell you leg lifts on that ball are not so easy!
