I recieved an email today & it got me thinking....so many women just starting out have so much info thrown at them that is often untrue, sometimes conflicting.....they lack solid knowledge of the basic fundamentals of lifting, eating, and the bodies capabilities.....for ladies who want to broaden their current knowledge, or for those starting out who need to learn, I recommend a good book geared toward women & fitness....Shape Training by Robert Kennedy & the publishers of Musclemag International...I think you can order it on amazon.com, or from Musclemag Int'l/

Whaaaaat?? No deadlifts! Oh well, I'm sure that most of the info in it is good, otherwise FC wouldn't recommend it to us. Thanks FC IP: Logged |

No big pappa....just thought about an email I got from someone today seeking info....its a pretty good solid book with a lot of basics in it- figured a lot of people would benefit from reading it.....I plug a lot of companies & products I think are worthwhile....I had to learn all that for myself, & figured learned knowledge could save a lot of peolpe from making stupid mistakes. Here is an article about Musclemag and Muscletech. http://www.muscleonline.com/musclegoss/ Sorry it's not a link (I don't think), you'll have to cut and paste. Still think Muscletech is a worthwhile product? IP: Logged |

its not a product- its a book- its got exercise explanations, workout plans, diet tips & recipies, info on metabolism, genetics, body composition, body shapes (frames),cardio health, home based workouts, gym based workouts, and what is a realistic goal & what isnt....There are no plugs for their products.....& I am not plugging their products...This is a book filled with solid info on training & women. The only connection to musclemag is that they compiled & edited the info....Its not authored by R Kennedy.... IP: Logged |

So FC, are you saying you are sponsored by them and they pay you to plug the products? hehehehe.... that was an easy one :p There are a number of good books out there for everyone to read. Log on to Amazon and if you see one you might like, post a question about it. I'm sure more than a few of us have either heard of it or own it. And good to have you posting Trinity ------------------ Lobo IP: Logged |

I have never met so many willing to share information without asking anything in return. I know of many who have to pay top dollar for the info that is freely doled out here on a consistent basis. Isn't that why we are all here basically - to seek and exchange info? No one source has all the answers, but if we pool our resources won't we all be better off? OK - I'll get off the soaptruck. Why sure B Mom, we have some great folks on here. But books are a great resource. I have many and often go back to them and look 'em over now and again. I forget way to much sometimes. The photos are very helpful too as it can be very hard to describe certain lifts. ------------------ Lobo IP: Logged |
