I just wanted you gals to know that this past weekend I decided to quit smoking. So far it hasn't been too hard, only in the morning when I first woke up. I got these herbal pills from my dad and he quit using them so i am giving it a shot. so far so good! Just wanted to share my joy!

Let's not just start patting each other on the back yet ladiesit's only been two days.

Lets see what Dlady is up to in 2 months or 2 years or the next time a "crisis" rolls around.

No seriously I did quit , and I am going to do everything to make sure I stick to it! If not I will be a failure and I do NOT like that word.

And why is it I sense that YOU have No FAITH in me what-so-ever!!!????

No disrespect, However the title to this thread indicates that you have accomplished not smoking. As a former smoker who quit 20 years ago I know how hard it is. At this early stage you are attempting to quit give you credit there, but you still have a long road ahead of you. It me several attempts before being able to give up for good.
I'm afraid that your setting your self up for major disappointment if you faulter even once by claiming victory so soon.
I do wish you good luck and hope if you do cheat you shake it off and keep going..

** I found that I cheated when I drank. So I quit drinking totally for one year. Haven't smoked since..

Well I already posted here but I think there is no reason for negativity. Anyone who is trying to quit smoking doesn't need to be reminded how hard it will be and that she "might" fail today, tomorrow, or whenever. I think the best thing Dlady did was say "I quit smoking" not Oh Oh I am trying so hard to quit smoking but it's soooo hard. She was TRYING I think in her own mind to stay motivated. If she has quit for 2 days she quit. Congrats are in order for those two days. If she starts back tomorrow that's ok she'll try again when she's more mentally prepared and SHE will know more of what to expect next time if that's what it takes. Dlady, I am proud of you and just take it day by day. I have seen more than one person lay down the pack the 1st time and never picked it up again. It is possible.

If any of you care to know my personal life right now go read the chat board! I have an ex boyfriend harrassing/stalking me right now, and I still havent smoked a ciggy. I actually have no desire too either,
hopefully I am in that 1% that can quit cold turkey! Cuase I just kept saying last night ,"I do NOT smoke so why would I want a cigarette" !!! So far it working.

Yes, my one worry is going to be out at the bars, I do not drink anymore, only on a rare occassion. But seeing everyone else smoking might drive me crazy!!!

I know I can do this!

Well DLady good luck with not smoking. I have read some of your personal life stories in the chat area. You may find things could even get worse soon, before they get better. Just do your best to not start back smoking.

I think you should feel good that you decided to quit. However, you need to realize that you may falter down the road. If you tell yourself now that you "never want to smoke again and if you do you are a failure", well that will cause you to go right back to smoking (when you do have that one cig) because you will feel such disappointment and say "fuck it, I fukin' suck...gimme another cig". I feel the best approach is if you go out to a bar or whatever and have a cig, you shouldn't feel shame or failure..... so you smoked a cig, so what. tell yourself that you had a cig, but you are still a non-smoker....and don't worry about it and don't have anymore. If you put so much pressure on yourself, you are very likely to fail because of that pressure.

I said in an earlier post I would eat it, but I did not know you smoked. I retract that statement until you have proven yourself. I do not eat things that smoke!

FC, I AM MAKING PROGRESS HERE VERY EASY , SINCE I HAVE THESE HERBAL PILLS THAT HELP ME NOT TO HAVE THE CRAVINGS I AM DOING VERY WELL I THINK. I TOLD IG, THE ONLY HABIT I HAVE NOW IS CHEWWING A BUNCH OF STRAWS, BUT THAT IS BETTER THAN A CIG IN MY MOUTH!
THIS WEEKEND I AM GOING TO TOTALLY CLEAN THE APARTMENT AND CARPET CLEAN SO NOTHING SMELLS LIKE SMOKE ANYMORE TOO.
