WarLobo answered a post the other day about getting someone's girlfriend to post herself because "she will listen to everyone but him..." I just want to say...HOW TRUE! My man has been training for 13 years. He is knowledgable about medical stuff, nutrition, training, gear...Heck he asked for a merck index for Christmas one year. Then why is it that I feel the need to question the poor guy? I don't even do it intentionally. And here I am saying "WarLobo said...or MS said...(You get the picture)"What the hell do I mean 'SAID'????? We're typing!!!! But, I do trust you and am glad that I have a second opinion. (BTW usually you end up echoing what he said.) So guys, don't feel bad if your chick is not listening. I think that there is something inherently comforting in speaking with other women concerning BB and gear use. True that he is a smart cookie but I can't ask him if his period was cut short on his last cycle???? IP: Logged |

Like I said, after years of study.... Course now lets not forget that is does work both ways. My wife, is in her own right, very knowledgeable and I'll be hog tied and slapped on a BBQ spicket if I don't listen one peep to her sometimes.... OH she has been right more times than I like to admit, it is just human nature for some unexplainable reason to believe a complete strangers advise. Go figure. ------------------ Lobo IP: Logged |

riptchick - my hubby is the same way. You're right though, they don't know what it means when it comes to anything having to do w/ a menst. cycl. or what about a yeast inf.? Damn, I hate those. I get maybe 1/yr. & my doctor said bc pills can contribute to it. My hubby told me, "Honey, if I could take it away I would....." I told him, "No, trust me, you wouldn't!" - hope I didn't get away from the sub. too much. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Perhaps we feel the need to question our significant others is because we feel on some level that because they love us they are not being objective, hence the old, "Do I look fat in this?" question. My husband recently admitted that there were many times he was not 100% honest with me because he thought that if he was COMPLETELY honest my feelings would be hurt (even though I never went off when I felt has WAS being honest). As for the "fact" stuff I don't think requesting a second or third opinion means that they don't believe or trust your knowledge. I think it has more to do with research. There is usually more than one way to get where you want to go - and knowledge is power. I never EVER get insulted when my hubby asks many people their opinions on a topic - hell, no one person knows EVERYTHING and I'm all about education! IP: Logged |
