Maybe this has been asked before and if so I apologize for asking it again but was just wondering in the pursuit of perfection what have you all had done ex. lipo, boob job, other cosmetic surgery? And are you glad that you did it?

I haven't done anything major YET but did have part of my gums removed to improve the way my smile looked - very glad I did that and am having some laser and dermabrasion done on my face and am very happy with that as well.

What was the difference before and after the dermabrasion?

It is actually microdermabrasion which is a gentler procedure and I have only done 1 of the 4 treatments but the first one got rid of alot of the fine wrinkles, greatly improved my skin texture and got rid of alot of freckles - I should look like a new woman by the time I am done. Also am going to have some laser hair removal on my face. Oh, and I had a few spider veins on my cheeks lasered off as well. I have a dermatologist that really likes cosmetic dermatology and can fix about any problem you have.

I want Boobs! I keep chickening (sp?)out though. I watched an actual surgery on TLC at like 4:00am one time and now I'm really nervous about it. For now, I'll just look like a teenage boy with long hair. :P

I had implants 10 years ago it was free through my employment(no not a dancer) I worked for the doctor. Everyone got one free thing done for christmas and I was so young I didn't need anything but hey it was free so I did it. Got very small implants it was the smallest they made at the time. Now I wish I didn't because after I had my little girl my chest increased a cup size and stayed that way. Or it could have been I actually hadn't finished growing. Anyway no one can tell even docts that I have them because their under so much breast tissue. I would have LIPO in a slit second if I could afford it. After the Breast Implant Settlement Check comes I just might! Hips and thighs!

I've never had anything done and probably never will, but if i had a choice and could have anything done, i'd choose to have some collegen (just a little, don't wanna look like melanie griffith) injected in my lips or have my eyeliner premanately tattooed on my eyes & eyebrows

If you ever want that eyeliner done let me know I do it and so does my sister. Always go very very easy on permanent eyeliner. I think the best is when you have it done only on the bottom and very close almost between the lower lashes. Most want it to look better when they don't have make up on. Not to look like Bette Davis. Hee Hee I did make myself a little mole which was kinda fun. Near my eye so it would bring attention to my eyes.

I got my boobs done about 4 years ago. Now that I'm 9% BF I'm very happy I have them since I would otherwise be flat-chested with very feminine hips. I didn't go too big. 275 cc's each. Looks funny when I pose naked because they are too round balls on my chest. In a bathing suit or clothes they look great!

Over the muscle is the way to go.

I got 1 foot of loose skin removed from my abdomen, my abdominal wall sutured (abdominoplasty or tummy tuck) for my 30th birthday - it was painful, but honestly, I hardly remember the pain or discomfort. I've had children so pain is relative and the results were unbelievable....and of course, having a flat stomach wasn't good enough - SO, I had to go out and get me a six pack. Then we got me "a set" for Christmas that same year. You know, the gift that keeps on giving. I have to say the boob job in my opinion WAS WAY MORE PAINFUL! ...but, hey beauty knows no pain and a thing of beauty is a joy forever!

Hey bikinimom, how bad was your stomach before the abdominoplasty. My wife has no cellulite on her legs or butt or anywhere else, but her stomach went south after our two girls were born.

Plus she got bad strech marks, she is awsome in the gym, has a great structure but her stomach is ruined. She was two days away from her date at the hospital to have the abdominoplasty and backed out. She now regrets it and wants to do it again.

can you tell me how bad it was before and what to tell my wife about what to expect results and recovery. Did they lipo your stomach as well?

thanks

The pain was intense but Demerol is such a beautiful thing! My stomach was flat, Flat, FLAT!!!! There was the inconvenience of drains for about 5 days to week (I believe, I don't remember exactly.) and there were "dog-ears" (a little pooch at either end of incision) which were removed in the doc's office about 6 mos or a year later (like I said, it's been a while so I don't quite remember everything). I had to wear an elastic "wrap" of sorts to support my abdomen for about a month - for most of the time - no biggie. I was terrified to have it done at first. (I had some screwed up notion that God was going to "punish" me for my vanity - I know very stupid.) But I can honestly say that with the stitches and drains and discomfort (I still felt a stitch-like pain run up and down the middle of my abdomen when I sneezed for at least a month) it was the cost of a vacation (not that I would've gone on one the way I looked prior) but by far it was the best money I ever spent!!! - No amount of diet or exercise would have removed an entire foot of loose skin (yes, most of my stretch marks were in effect cut off) and no amount of sit-ups weighted or otherwise would have brought my abdominal wall back (fascia stretched from childbearing) to what it was before all of those kids!

And NO - I did not have any lipo! I earned my six pack the old fashioned way - I grew 'em and diet down and PRESTO! - there they are!!

I wanted lipo on the back of my thighs. You know where the glute-hamstring tie-ins are - I hate that area! When I gain fat that's wher it goes, but my hubby says he likes it when I'm smoother - GO FIGURE! He said my cosmetic surgery days were over and I would have to lose this the old fashioned way! ..The Meanie ! But, I did it and it is all good.

Tell your wife if she has a competent surgeon and she really wants to have it done to GO FOR IT! I must tell you though, my surgeon warned me against doing any weighted ab work - hell, my stomach would be flat forever (as long as I didn't get heavy of course) why would I even want to do another sit-up? Because once I had flat, it wasn't good enough - I wanted more. But I am EXTREMELY carefull and even with this I have busted one or two sutures in my lower abs - I do have permanent sutures holding my abs together. When I get down to competition weight you can actually see them with the naked eye - freaky stuff. You can feel them even now (16%bf or so). Just a disclaimer weighted ab work is contraindicated for people who have had this procedure!

Oh yes, and the doc did such a beautiful job that you can not see the scar under the teeniest string thong bikini! Yes, I do have stretch marks but they have faded considerably and with a good tan they are hardly noticeable. When I compete you can not see them from the stage and when I do shoots if the lighting is proper you can hardly see them. I like my stretchmarks though. I feel like they make my abdomen look more "real" - I mean after all I have had a few children so if I didn't even have one mark more people would question the "authenticity" of my work. God, if I had a dime for every time somebody said, "I just knew it! I could look like that too if I spent a few bucks!" True, I have had some "work" done but only things that I nor anyone could have achieved naturally without surgical intervention. I never hide this because I do not want to give the false impression that what I have achieved is possible without some help. You can buy a flatter stomach and a set of breasts, but you can not buy a ghetto-bootie, triceps that do not wave along with you or gymnast's legs!

It's late and I'm BEYOND rambling ....if you or your wife have any other questions, please feel free. I hope that I have helped you both!

LOL - sounds like your belly looked just like mine does right now. I didn't know how they would fix it so this will probably come before my boob job. I never walked into a delivery room under 210# and now I am paying for it, I had one natural and one c-section and from what you are describing it sounds like the pain is similar to the c-section - gotta love those drugs. If that is what it is like I wouldn't hesitate for one second to have it done.

Thanks Bikinimom for taking the time, I told my wife about you last night, I am going to show her your pics tonight when I get off from work. Do you have any pics that show your stomach prior to the abdominoplasty.

I saw the one of you and your husband on the beach but your stomach didn't look bad at all. I know that may be too personal but if you don't mind maybe you could e-mail them at [email protected]. again, thank you for your time.

If I had any "before abdominoplasty" pics in my possession I would have them put on a billboard and have my doc's name and number put up, but she has them in her office - so sorry, but if this helps, imagine and ENTIRE FOOT of loose skin where a now flat and hard stomach is! TRUST ME - IT WAS BEYOND YUCKY!!

Regretfully I haven't had needed repairs done yet. No dental fillings either. My preference would be to have my jaws adjusted so that I could bite properly yet keep all of my teeth. Maybe a bit of lipo as well.

Now for the questions: How does one find a good surgeon? Seriously asked. I fully realize there are a lot of skilled, ethical, and consciencious experts out there, but how do I find them? I do not know of many people in person who readily admit to having procedures done. And the rare few that I have encountered have presented a mix of views. ie. about half had no major difficulties, and another half had nothing but trouble -relapses, permanent numbness.

Suggestions?

How does one differentiate between a practitioner who is skilled at 'marketing' vs. one who is skilled at surgery? My previous and ongoing experiences with so-called 'endocrinologists' have been Most disappointing in this respect.

For Bikinimom: are the sutures strong enough to support bodyweight during gymnastics? Could you do inversion sit-ups?

Thanks.

Am having my lips done today. No Collagen, that is not permanent. THey now have Biopolimero injections which are permanent, no side effects such as uneven or bumping lips. Will let you know the results.

Started working out again after a long time away from the gym. This time around my boobs have gotten almost flat it really doesn't bothr me but my husband is obessed with it. He wants me to have a boob job done and I am very afraid because of all the negative things I have heard that can happen. I would also love to know which technique is the best. Having them put in through the bottom, through the nipple or ender the arms? In front or behind the muscles? Which one leaves less scaring?

Am also thinking about do lipo if can not get the results I want by December. Any suggestions?

I'm definitely well-proportioned now!!!

I went to a FULL C! I love the results! My husband loves the results....sometimes, I think more than me!
