ok, this might sound dumb, but i figured i would ask. do any of you think being at work, running non-stop can count as part of my cardio? i work in a very busy restaurant and am constantly on the go. no stopping to stare at the walls or talk. it is back and forth to the tables the then the kitchen. i know it should count as some, but how much do you all think i walk (mile wise) on the job? i work about 4 days for 6-7 hours each day. let me know what you all think. remember i already think this is a dumb question. no making fun. dirtyratt IP: Logged |

It won't count as 'cardio', but it will add a lot to your AMR. So either way, it's helping you burn more calories. IP: Logged |

Girl YES i definatly think it counts, i did it too part-time while working a full time job and some days i would just let that count as my cardio. Partly because i didn't get off and home in bed until 11:30 & had to be at my fulltime job at 7:00am to do it all over. So sometimes i just couldn't make it. Your gettin all sweaty and shit. You know your burning calories, but how many i don't know. Waitin tables is a bitch but i liked it too! missgalaxy IP: Logged |

I'm leaning on MS's side on this one. Reason one. Your not getting your heart rate up high enough. Two. You have been doing this for a while and your body adapts. Yes of course you burn more calories than if you were sitting in a chair. But if this activity is so intense, why do you still need to lose fat? Because it's such an easy job you need to do the cardio Late Lobo IP: Logged |

When waiting tables you *squat* pick up a tray that weighs 30 or so pounds and i did this at least i'd say 40-50 times a shift. Plus all that hussling your ass off always in a frickin rush cause your customers are usually assholes Anyway i also waited tables for 4 years before i ever went to a gym. When i started working out i always got compliments on my back and i hadn't ever used weights before. I feel its due to all the lifting and shit. Anyway maybe you cant "count" it as a cardio session; but i always felt better knowing i was burning calories at work if i didn't make it to the gym. BTW Drityratt- do you work at the famous "Burns" by chance? Lobo's so humerous. IP: Logged |
