Is the only way to tell if a muscle was worked hard enough by how sore it is the next day? For example I am doing what feels like working the crap out of my quads/hams and glutes but the day after leg day the only thing that is sore is my calves. If there is no apparent soreness do you wait the full week to work them again or do I put in another leg day sooner? IP: Logged |

Soreness is not an indicator of a good workout. The only way to tell if you had a good workout is by the way you feel during the workout. If it felt good, then it's a good workout. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I am not doubting what you are saying but there appears to be a whole lot of gals in a whole lot of pain after leg day. I am getting enough of a burn in the gym to where I have to pause on some sets and then finish but the next day they feel just fine. Why is it that some people have alot of soreness and others don't. I am extremely sore the day after chest and back but never after legs other than my calves. IP: Logged |

I often wondered if i was doing enough so just to make sure i ended up annihilating the muscle instead of stimulating the muscle. Bad way to go. Well, to make a long story short go to www.cyberpump.com, click on to "training" then click on to HIT version 3.0; this protocol for training will take the guess work out of how much is enough. Its a lot of reading so take your time. IP: Logged |

I don't know if this will help but, legs day was wed. We started with a few sets of extension, last set drop set - Man I hate those - they FUCKING BURN! Then we headed for the sled. Set1 - 100reps at 180 (girly weight I know), Set 2 80reps at 230, Set 3 60reps at 270. (Talk about embarrassing, I was nearly crying) Finish off with 3 sets of deadlifts, nothing heavy just 12 to 15 rep sets with 65 to 95 #. All withing 45 minutes then top it all off with kick-boxing for 45 min. I near FUCKING PASSED OUT! After all of this low-weight, high-rep stuff one would think I would be hobbling for days. Well, its SAT AM and NADDA! What does that mean? IP: Logged |

it means your in GREAT shape soreness is NOT a measurment on how good your workout was..not really..some people just dont get sore... me on the other hand.lets just put it this way. im the guys that NEVER walks normally..seeing as ive splitt calves from the rest of my leg workout. i cant walk properly any given day... ------------------ "...damn you for not giving my TEST" - Metallica "After this show i'll be fat and happy again.....If i make it to the show...." - Lee Priest IP: Logged |
