My wife and I have been discussing breast implants for a few weeks now. We have been married for 3 years, no kids. She says she wants to wait until after we have kids before she gets her implants. I want her to get them now. Her reason for waiting is because she has been told that if you already have implants, then have kids, it makes for an unsightly looking chest. Is this true? Any of you women who got their implants before having kids, do they still look the same? My wife thinks that if she gets them now, she may have to have another surgery after kids. Any comments? I don't have implants so I can't totally answer your question but I would think one consideration would be whether or not she plans to breastfeed. If she does and has alot of milk as I did I would think that they could be extremely uncomfortable - I was always a DD when breastfeeding with no implants. Also pregnancy and breastfeeding does your chest no favors - right now my boobs are around my belly button when I don't have a bra on which is very unattractive let me tell you. IP: Logged |

he he, Temple lol! I too breastfed both boys and let me tell you they were HUGE! Of course, after I was finished they vanished. I understand her wanting to wait. Afterall, they are on her bod. After my going to several consultations I have decided against it for now. IP: Logged |

I had implants put in 41/2 yrs ago...I have a 12 month old and i DID breastfeed with the implants(for about 3 weeks).. I will also say that i did get some stretch marks around my breasts(they still got HUGE) and they also started sagging after the pregnancy... IP: Logged |

I got them before my kids and had to have them redone after. They will sag after breastfeeding and that was not the look I wanted. I understand her dilemma, she wants them now right? That's a tough question and I think it depends on how bad she wants them and how long until you plan on waiting until having kids. It is a pretty safe bet that she will have to have them revised after childbirth to keep them looking like she wants. Good luck, Tracy IP: Logged |

See, now I have to disagree totally I had implants about 1 month before I got pregnant with my first child. They did get huge and hurt like hell, but no sagging here. I honestly think they look more natural since I had my daughter because it made them soften up. The number one thing is that she makes the decision on her own. You dont want to push her into making a decision that she would regret or begrudge you for later...just my .02 IP: Logged |

I have to get in on this topic. I worked for several plastic surgeons and we suggested waiting for the implants if you want to have a baby soon. 1. Some people like myself actually went up a cup size and stayed there after the baby. 2. Your breast will become rather large if you breastfeed and after they may have some sagging. Many people then have them lifted a little while getting the augmentation. Please one word of advice this is only my opinion but if you ar 5ft4 or under do not get HUGE implants. They will make you look bigger all over and there are many woman who get excited and go overboard in general. My sis being one of them. Your skin can only stretch so much so unless you want to look like your wearing grapefruits in you bathing suit(you know the implants you see that actually make YOU hurt to look at them) don't go HUGE. Don't believe a doc who says Oh your skin will stetch and they'll drop. Not always and if they do your skin won't be a pretty site. I have seen hundreds of examples. Go for over the muscle too. Good Luck ------------------ IP: Logged |

ps. I did have implants a year before giving birth and I did breastfeed for 3 months and they are fine I think for two reason1.I NEVER took off my bra 2. I only went up 1 and 1/2 cup size. After the breastfeeding and now 6 years later they are still an extra cup size bigger than I paid for but it's great because there is so much of my own breast tissue on top of them my own doctors have to ask because they are not sure. I lay down they lay down I sit up they sit up. O.k I'm done talking. Sorry to ramble IP: Logged |

HOLD EVERYTHING! Tkotracy: you have kids??!! Man, I have seen the promised land. About implants, go see a doctor..a plastic surgeon. You should see several actually. They will tell you what to expect and what others have experienced. This board is great but when you go to the doctor's office he can show you pictures and give you some real good references. At the risk of sounding shallow, perverted, etc...I can tell you that implants make the female body that is already fit. Right Fitness chick? I have seen skinny fit girls go from A to a C or D and it is an ENTIRE new look. Good luck to you and your wife...her health first! IP: Logged |
