I've searched for some sample diets to see how mine compares, I don't think I've gotten all the fine tuning out of it so I was wondering if you all could give your diet routines, non-contest, this way I have something to check myself against.
So far for me: (i have no clue the cal, fat, etc etc I have to refigure it all out.)

Meal 1
oatmeal
3 egg whites
vitamin

snack 1
1 large apple not peeled

meal 2
1 can of tuna with a drop of mayo 1 teaspoon
1 slice of whole wheat bread
salad

snack 2
1 yogurt

meal 3
salad
brocoli & cauliflower
4 pieces of chicken

I know thats no where near what I should be eating so Im hoping to gain ideas though your diets. The problem with me is I like the whole hand to mouth motion so I like snacking, but I cant find something healthy to snack on. This is why I used to smoke it replaced eating and now that I dont have that I think Im starting slowly to go back to eating.
I want to try and get my food consuption to:
16-1800 cal 50 fat 150pro 50-100carb
Something along those lines
Any suggestions are more then welcome and I'll try anything.

Did you say you want non-contest diets? In other words not trying to lose weight? I'm in maintenance mode at the moment (getting ready to diet soon) and this is what I ate yesterday. I'm 165 lbs, 5'5" and around 18%bf.

Meal 1

1 cup oats
40 grams soy protein
2 tspn flaxseed oil

Meal 2

60 grams shredded wheat
40 grams soy protein
2 tspn flaxseed oil

Meal 3

2 whole grain sandwiches
100 grams high protein lunch slice
lettuce
mustard
1 cup broccoli

Meal 4

cup chick peas
2 cups mixed vegetables
1 tspn flaxseed oil
 cup almonds

Meal 5

150 grams pasta (dry weight)
2 cups mixed veggies
1 tsp flaxseed oil

Meal 6

40 grams soy protein

The tally:

-CHICKPEAS 1 cup
-SQUASH-ZUCCHINI cup
-ONIONS cup
-BROCCOLI-1.5 cups
-CABBAGE 1 cup
-CARROTS 1/2 cup
-GREEN PEPPERS 1 pepper
-ALMONDS-DRY ROASTED cup
-OATS-ROLLED-RAW 1 cup
-FLAXSEED 2 tbsp
-SOY PROTEIN 120 grams
-SPAGHETTI-DRY 150 grams
-BREAD;MIXED-GRAIN 4 slices
-SHREDDED WHEAT 60 grams

And this is the nutritional breakdown of the whole day. It will probably look garbled since it started life as a table, but here goes......

Nutrient Total Recommended. %Recommended.
--------------+----------+-----------------+----------------------
Calories 2646.26 2200 120.28%
Pro (g) 176.19 50 352.38%
Fat (g) 67.49 73 92.04%

Iron (mg) 38.13 15 254.2%
Na (mg) 1852.84 2000 92.64%
Pot (mg) 3038.34 - --
Phos (mg) 2609.66 800 326.21%
Ash (g) 17.02 -- --
vitA (IU) 22458.49 4000 561.46%
vitC (mg) 200.62 60 334.37%
Thia (mg) 2.05 1.1 186.36%
Ribo (mg) 1.51 1.3 116.15%
Nia (mg) 16.92 15 112.8%
H2O % 48.32 -- --
satF (g) 8.6 24.44 35.19%
monoF (g) 36.78 24.44 154.49%
polyF (g) 14.41 24.44 58.96%
Chol (mg) 0 300 0%

When I start my diet it will look very similar. I'll increase my protein by around 50 grams per day, and drop the starchy carbs and nuts in my last 2 meals (that's the chick peas and spaghetti). I'll cut back slightly on the other 3 carb meals.

I took an average over 5 days and my comsumption looks like:
212g of protein,
82.5g of carbs,
and 80.82g of fat for a calorie count of
1968.28

I have recently bumped my average intake from 1400-1600 to what you see above. Drastic increases in my fat (ie flax oil)intake (and overall calories!) have actually resulted in lower-bodyfat losses (ie hips, waist and legs). My intent at this point is to establish my maintenance numbers, which means that I will probably be massaging these numbers for the next week or so. I'm 5'4" at 140# with 14-15%BF. I am currently post-cycle and not taking any thermogenics. ...enjoying all the sleep!

DX, I have a problem eating too, but I make myself eat!! If not I would be back down to only 500 to 800 calories a day, and that isn't good!
Now, I make sure i eat through out the day. I have all of my starchy carbs early in the day alteast by noon or 1PM, then i will just eat some cottage cheese, a little fruit, to snack on at night, but dinner is always my real main meal!
steaks, salads, chicken, seafoods, and a few other things . But I just make sure not to have anything that is junk food or starchy after 1 pm. ANd even now it is hard for me to consume at least 1600-1900 calories a day.

Main reason is I am not used to eating after like 3pm, once I leave work i really do not eat, I get too busy. But now itry to always carry a Meal replacement drink , around so i will have it on hand for later.

It is a very hard change. I am new at this too, but I am starting to change little at a time. You just have to give your body a chance to adapt.

I'm off season so I really eat whatever the fuck I want! ...which is usually oatmeal and whey! What is up with that?!?!

I'm going to begin pre-contest in the next several weeks so I'm having a few last flings before life gets shitty again.

But generally, I eat at least 5 sometimes 6 meals a day.

All meals contain between 20 - 30 g protein
the rest of the components of my meals (fat and carb)I modify depending on what activity level I will be at (am I going to train or going to sleep?) generally no more than 75 g comp carb per meal and as many veggies as I can fit. I also supplement with fish oil. No one has really made reference to this EFA? What are your opinions on this?

I eat fruit, whole grain breads, oatmeal, yams, brown rice, whey, steak, chicken, fish, eggs, low fat cottage cheese, soy, veggies, veggies, and more veggies Oh yes, cheese cake, ice cream, cookies - whatever I feel like, but, of course, in moderation. After consuming all the good stuff I honestly don't have a lot of room left over for the REALLY GOOD STUFF!!

Damn, I wish I could eat anything I want like, I believe, bikinimom =o(
>>sigh<< If I do I'll get really fat.

Dlady it's so difficult to eat so much Im really used to having recently one meal a day and even that I think I was lucky to eat 500 calories. When I was 16 I never ever ate anything and then I went out with my X and I ate everything. I think doing this will be the single most important thing Ive ever done for myself besides lifting.

After I get my diet finetuned I'll post it for fitnesschick and MS and really anyone else who wants to critique it

And yes eventually I'll post my before pics, but not until I have some good after pics to show =o) So when Im down to 20% bodyfat I'll post some pics right now Im at 30% and with all the water I drank today I feel like Im gonna float away, I feel like Im more like 50%bf

Thanks for some of your info =o)

Now you know that by eating "anything I want" that means oatmeal and whey! ...you did read that part right? I am so damned full from all the freaking veggies and chicken and eggs and whole wheat bread (I'm talking a roll here) and brown rice and steak and MRP shakes and so on and so on and so on where would the ring dings and ho-ho's fit? If I put all the "unnecessary xtra-s" in my stomach first then I won't have the room the necessary stuff, and if I do this, then why am I going to the gym and lifting my brains out when it ain't gonna do a wholelotta good 'cause I haven't fed my body what it NEEDS! ...See where I'm going with all of this? You might think you want all that crap but when you think about all the blood, sweat, and tears in the gym - it's almost like a waste of time (depending on your goals, of course). Whenever I think about eating way too much of the stuff I don't really need I just remind myself about how hard I trained and all of the sudden, like magic *POOF!* instead of wanting an entire half gallon of Turkey Hill I either settle for a normal human serving or walk away from it altogether!

I am sorry DX, but you realy DO need to read the topic that Iron God had put up a while back that was titled "Who here thinks that they eat enough"
You will read the comments and see I was just like you, and now Thanks to alot of people on here I changed that habit of NOT EATING, in all honesty they will basically tell you if you wont eat right then they WON'T help you OUT HERE!!!! ASK IG, him and I went round about it for a week and it finally sunk in that what him and FitnessChick were telling me all along was so true!!! SO LISTEN when I tell YOU YOU MUST EAT!!!!!! MAKE YOURSELF !! even if it is 4 protein drinks a day you have to have those calories!!!

I'm sorry bikinimom, it was really late when I read your post and I was very tired I did read it wrong. I apologize you work very hard for your body and I know you do by your pic's, I am definately not one to demean anyone else's hard work.

Dlady- Yes I read that posting and I know I need to eat more that's why I've fine tuned my diet and posted it. Ive been trying to eat more for the past three months or so, it's hard, and usually I do it, but sometimes those cheat days kill me. Thats why I am not having another cheat day. One meal of pasta and one fatty desert a week. Meaning my boyfriend is obligated to take me to a restauraunt once a week, lol and he agreed. =o)
Im hoping someone will read the final outcome of my diet and tell me if Im doing it right or wrong. Well Im off to go and try to find more protien powders.

I am no pro here but I think your diet you have up on here is fine, I on the other hand do not measure the shit like everyone here, i just watch the certain foods I eat and so far it is working so until I hit the Ptateau, I will keep doing it this way. I commend you for having the pacietnce (however you spell it)to sit down and do so much research, that just is not me!

Hmmm...I mostly live on Myoplex these days with the kids off for the summer.

Cardio
Meal 1. Oatmeal skim milk, egg whites
Meal 2. is usually myoplex flav of the day
Meal 3. 2 chicken breasts or fish brown rice broccoli or other green
Meal 4. Myoplex
Meal 5. Lean Beef, potatoes or other carb

Train

Meal 6. Mypoplex

water, water, water
I don't eat the same things everyday either. I'll eat anything that is high in protein and low in fat. BTW I'll mix flax seed oil in with balsamic vinegar and pour in on a salad. Or mix tuna with nonfat yogurt and dill weed and eat it with fresh veggies.

Wow, I drink alot of that Myoplex don't I?

Ok here's a question--how much of that is ok to live on?
