I went to the doctor yesterday after not having my period since march, after a 9 week cycle of winny.....and guess what, she wasnt the least bit concerned....she said a menstral cycle is not necessary in a woman, however if it is absent for an extended amount of time( i guess 3 mo's in her eyes isnt a long time)that it can increase your risk of ostioperosis, and may cause problems later....she said there is no need to worry, it will probably come back on its own in time.....she wrote me a prescription for a low dose brth control pill if I wanted to induce my period.....however, I avoid the pill like its the plague.....anyway, she also lectured me on how bad a.s. are for women & how it will increase my chances of liver cancer( TOTALLY MISINFORMED)....the only one that is proven to cause liver cancer is anadrol. So for any of you who had posted on this situation before, hope this clears up some q's & concerns. IP: Logged |

I think its a proven fact that most doctors have no idea about AS usage, dosage, sides etc. Heck they usally have very little knowledge of nutrition as well. My best friend is a little over 200 lbs and she is about 5'7". Her doctor wouldn't even prescribe Xenical because she said she wasn't that overweight! At lease you can ease your mind about the menstral cycle loss though. IP: Logged |

Yes -totally misinformed. The 'pill' is known to cause liver tumors by itself. There are More documented cases of liver cancer from oral contraceptives than from alkylated oral AAS, *even from A-bombs*. (looking over many liver texts...) Of course many many more people are exposed to oral birth-control. Still, the literature presence is hard to ignore. More on this later, I'm still collecting some stuff for a much more useful future post. IP: Logged |

I want to post this just so you all know there are many different cases... This may all sound stupid too. Many women with a very low bf% do not have or miss a period, during lifting time. So it is said by many experts... But I do want you gals to know just for future reference that my one girlfriend was said to have cervical cancer back in 1998 and the doctors told her "NO, you will NEVER be able to have another child", and there was NO NEED for her to be on birth control. So, she like anyone thought by that she could not get pregnant again, and she DID NOT have a period for over 3 years. Then BOOM! She found out in January of this year that she was actually 4 months into a pregnancy. And the way she found this out was by going to her annual exam. She had actually lost more weight when she first got pregnant. So not everything that ANY doctor tells you is TRUE!! Always get a second opinion! Our bodies just keep on changing and unless we make ourselves aware of the things that may or may not be going on inside them, then any one of us can end up with a child we did not want. So even though it is said that if you have a BF% that is very low you will miss periods, I still would be getting a test from somewhere. IP: Logged |

FitnessChick, Don't worry. Mine took about 4 months to kick into normal(drag). Also, I'm 46 so I'm playing with menopause.
