I am thinking of doing a Clen only cycle to cut up and I have asthma.

I did some searching on the board and found that some people who had asthma had actually gotten their doctor to perscribe Alupent which is metaproterenol.

Alupent seems to have the same results as Clen but only in the oral form (not the inhaler).

Anyway, I found sources that indicated Alupent was a sulfa drug and I have a severe allergic reation to sulfa drugs.

I took Alupent as a teenager and found that I am very allergic to it.

I am wondering if Clen is from the same drug family as Alupent (ie, is it a sulfa drug or from the sulfa drug family)?

Does anyone know the answer to this?

If not, has anyone who has a sulfa allergy ever taken Clen and how did you react?

Also, has anyone who has asthma taken Clen and if so what was your reaction?

Any info would be appreciated.

Well, I have asthma & I have taken Clen....It does miracles for it----but thats because clen was originally an asthma medication----it is a "beta- agonist"
available in both orals & inhalers....it is thermogenic & it will minimize cortisol levels....cannot answer the rest of your questions, maybe some one else can, sorry hope this helped a little

Thanks FitnessChick,

BTW, I was quite impressed with your before and after photos (good work!).

I read that you were taking Winstrol and have become interested in trying it myself.

Right now I am focusing on cutting my BF%.

I looked into Cytomel but it looks too scary. Do you have any experience with it?

FitnessChick,

I read the post, what a sad story. Thanks for the warning, I'll stick to clen if I won't have an allergic reaction.

I hope someone will be able to tell me if it's a sulfa drug.

What kind of allergic reaction did you have to the Albuterol. It is not a sulfanomide (sulpha drug), but it does come in an oral sulfate form (not the same as sulpha). It is normal to experience:

Restlessness, apprehension
Palpitations
Tachycardia
Dysrhythmias
Decreased blood pressure
Coughing
Facial flushing

And if this was what you experienced then Clenbuterol will not be any better. Other side effects are less common, but possible.

Thanks for your response. The drug I had a reaction to is Alupent. I reacted with vomiting shortly after I took it. I also broke out in hives. If Clen is similar to Albuterol I should't have a problem with it, because I have been using an Albuterol inhaler for years and just have the side effects you described.

Whoops. Sorry way2blonde, I wrote Albuterol instead of Alupent, but the verdict is still the same. If you tolerate oral Albuterol then Clenbuterol will be alsmost identical, same sides, etc...
