Do any of you female BB's know if taking 20mg of Nolvadex a day will be effective. I heard this is a good precontest cut drug for females. Any experienced female's on this subject? What are the side effects for woman? IP: Logged |

HMMMMM, well I suppose since it is an anti- estrogen it could work to cut but probably minimally, ...you would be better off with clen I think. IP: Logged |

Nolvadex will block some of the estrogen receptors in women, including some of the ones in the thigh and butt area. Since estrogen bound to these receptors sends the signal "store fat here", Nolvadex can help with female specific fat loss. It also reduces estrogen related fluid retention which helps with pre-contest dehydration. But my favorite side effect is complete cessation of menstrual flow which would otherwise be a real drag on show day. To get the most out of this drug it needs to be taken starting at least one full menstual cycle before the show. Nolvadex should not be combined with birth control pills. Loss of menstual flow is the most commonly reported side effect in BB women. Fitness Chick is correct on the point of it being minimally effective. By this I mean this is an advanced technique and effects will not be very noticeable unless everything else is in place (you know, diet, cardio, thermogenics, etc..). It is not, all by itself, a cutting/fatloss drug. It merely helps redirect where the some of the fat comes off. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Nolva is often used in this manner and MS gave a very solid accounting - especally as it relates to an advanced technique. But it does work well when used in this way. Is it really worth it? Probably not. When you consider all the other alternatives you can spend your time and money on. Late Lobo IP: Logged |

That is some pretty good advice. If the bank account isn't broke the best bet would be Anavar and mybe some clen. This may be a bit much for beginners but start with the Anavar and see how it goes. Your money will be well worth it!! IP: Logged |

Sometimes I wonder WarLobo (and others interested in this subject) if the 'other alternatives' are that much better. This is pure speculation on my part, but it's based on some knowledge and observation. The first is that most women on Birth Control (whether estrogen/progesterone) tend to put on more fat than BC free women. Second observation is that 'natural' female bodybuilders tend to peak in their mid-late 30's. This is at a time when their estrogen levels are close to half of an 18 year olds. Third is the result of putting post-menopausal women on HRT. Again female distribution fat gain is the most common side effect. Now Nolvadex is not the be-all and end-all of estrogen blockers. It's very specific in it's activity, so only blocks a small portion of estrogen receptors. In fact in some tissues it activates estrogen receptors instead of blocking them. But no-one would seriously suggest that a women takes a complete estrogen blocker just to get lean. This would almost certainly induce premature menopause. But I would be so bold as to say that I think estrogen IS a women's number one worst enemy when it comes to looking lean and mean all over. Lack of Testosterone would rate second in my book of strikes against women bodybuilders. Some of this comes from my personal experience looking back over the years. I could never have become as lean and hard as I can get now when I was a young lass, even though I could put on some quality muscle. But I also never used Nolvadex until 2 years ago. The combo of reduced natural estrogen (from aging) and Nolvadex has made a BIG difference for me. And my 46 year old training partner was the leanest chick I saw on a stage last year, and she'd never dieted before in her life and didn't use any AAS, clen OR T3. Just Nolvadex and Thermadrene plus Yohimbine. So, for me, I will keep Nolva in my pre-contest regime. The sides are less than even the pill or AAS, certainly less than Clen and T3. And it's never tested for on drug tests. This is not meant to be a whole-hearted endorsement of this drug. It does mess with your hormones, and from that point of view alone anyone using it should consider if their goals justify the means. But at around a dollar a day it's not that expensive, nor illegal. With inflation that must be my $2 worth. ------------------ IP: Logged |
