First of all, hello to all y'all out there in fitness land, I'm a newbie on this board, but I've read quite a few posts and I am impressed by some of the good knowledge out there. WarLobo especially, keep up the good work, you rule!
My question is about my girlfriend, who wants to lose about 25 pounds. She's part native Hawaiian and part Cherokee, 5'4", 150 lbs, which sounds like she's really heavy for her height, but she's very muscular naturally (i.e. she has naturally strong/thick ankles and calves which put mine to shame), and her weight, in both muscles and fat, is distributed quite evenly. She wants to be where she was 2 years ago, @ 130 lbs. We're both starting a clen cycle, 1 wk on/1 wk off, (2/day for me, 1/day for her), and I was wondering what else she can do.
She doesn't like the shakes, so she doesn't want to take a lot of clen. She is skeptical towards ephedrine and caffeine stacks (ECA), but do those cause shakes like a lot of clen? She does cardio 3-4 times a week. We both have started to substitute a METRX shake for either breakfast or lunch everyday, usually with milk. We watch sugar intake, but we usually have a small dish of ice cream or 1 can of regular soda a day, for dessert.
WARLOBO-- I tried to muck through that long aspartame post but didn't have the patience. It affects some people more than others, like everything else, but generally its a bad thing, right? Is one diet soda a day going to hurt us?
I've told her a million times that she needs to lift, at least a little, that muscles burn way more calories, that muscles are money in the bank, etc...but she's convinced that lifting will only make her bigger, she says that her muscles are naturally big enough, etc...
What can I say to her to get her to lift a little? Would an ECA stack help her on the week off? Should we go 2 wks on/2 wks off with the clen?

Tell her to come visit us at the Women's board here. From personal experience I can say SHE WON'T GET TOO BIG. I am naturally muscular like your gal so I always played around with light weights but never went for the heavier until the last 4 months. Its already paid off big time in terms of my shape. I look so much better now I'm wondering why I wasted all that time doing aerobics and leg lifts. While I do have a ways to go yet, I've no doubt I will reach my ideal goal. I train 4 days a week with weights and cardio the other 3. She won't regret it...neither will you!

Built2Lift, thanks for the kind words. We got a good solid group of folks on this board

By all means get your Lady to log on and do some reading. Sometime the people closest to us do not always listen to the good advise. Often it takes a complete stranger to point out the proper direction. Can't say I'm not guilty of it myself now and then.
Your right of course with wanting her to lift, but she may feel more at ease if she hears that advice from other women.

Aspartame can be a real bugger for some folks. Others do not have much of a problem with it. Just do not let it get hot as it will break down into some nasty stuff.

The clen and e/c/a is often used in a two week rotation. This helps avoid the bodies natural reaction to become more and more tolerant of each.

Please explain to your lady that EVERYTHING has a price, aint nothing for free. Some sides are worse than others, some reactions are mild, and some can send you off the deep end. There is no magic pill to take and it still takes a hell of a lot of work.

Late

Lobo

Thanks Lobo,

Yeah, I am trying to get her to come on over to the board and ask some questions but the only place she has regular internet access is at work, and she has a cubicle, not an office, so the office mates are privy to whatever she happens to be checkin out. I'm going to bring her to school (I'm a college kid) one weekend so she can do her thang with y'all.
Oh, by the way, I'm starting a clean (not that AS are dirty) cutting cycle right now using good supplements (protein, vitamin and mineral) and clen. Now I am 5'9", 190 lbs, I am not sure of my BF% but I think its around 15%. I'll keep you posted. Basically, I hope to stay about the same weight but dramatically reduce my BF. 200 lbs would be nice, however

The shakes from the clen go away after a while, but 20 mcgs a day isn't alot. If somebody wants to get lean, its imperative that they lift. End of story.
