Recently dropped 30lbs, went from 25%bf to 15%bf and I lost my boobs! It seemed like those were the last to go, and it happened almost seemingly overnight. I have always been one of those women that have said "breast enlargement is stupid", that is until I went from a full "C" cup to a "B". My boyfriend thinks I'm being a little obsessive, but it is really starting to bother me. How many of you have had enlargements? And, if you have, what were your experiences? I saw FitnesChick was going to have hers done, and now I am seriously considering it. Any help/advise would be much appreciated. IP: Logged |

I don't know if you want a guy's two cents here or not, and if not I apologize, but I've always found implants to be an enormous turnoff. They range from simply not moving/feeling real to looking absolutely ridiculous on women with little bodyfat. I always figured if I wanted a blowup doll I'd go buy one. I love breasts. I love big breasts. I love GREAT big breasts. But I'd rather a woman be flat as a board than have those horrid things stuck in her. IP: Logged |

..losing cup sizes as well so this issue has been brought up more than once for me as well. Furtunately/unfortunately my obsession is my genetic predisposition to 'very large butt'. The gym I work in/workout in has a large population of elite bodybuilders including about a dozen women. Not all of those have implants but you can certainly spot the ones that do, and personally I think they look disproportionate and unnatural. Part of the problem might be that everyone goes for the EE-cup to compensate for the inadequacies of being flat chested. Some people believe that the materials being introduced into the market today have a more realistic feel that what they have been using in the past. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with a plastic surgeon. If you can get a referral from a friend, all the better. I had lipo done on my hips a year and a half ago and it was the best gift I've ever given myself. I'm considering a followup procedure and my family thinks i'm nuts. which brings up my final point: If you do this procedure are you ever going to establish a sense of satisfaction/well being with what you have naturally? For me it just shifted my standards. IP: Logged |

I got implants 5 years ago and have been seriously thinking about removing them. I havent had any problems with them other than the fact that they are tooooo BIG! I am a 34DD. It makes exercising(jogging) VERY uncomfortable! They have also started sagging just like real boobies b/c they are so heavy. Sure, at first i thought they were great but i am over that now and i regret having them put in! I hope ive helped. Whatever you decide be very sure that is what you want b/c its not cheap and its not very easy to go back and change! I would love to be a B cup right now!!!!! Good luck! IP: Logged |

Wow! I'm pleasantly surprised by these replies. I suppose I was just so accustomed to having bigger breasts that when they disappeared on me, I felt like there was something lacking. Now, if I could figure out a cheap and easy way to get lipo'd on my lower abs and have 'em put some of that fat up in my boobs, I would be a real happy camper. IP: Logged |

Good advise from the people here. It is a personal choice that only you can answer. I would recomend them if they are about a good size for your body. You may not always be at that low body fat, so judge for it. It was the best ego boost that I could have ever gotten, but I went from not even an A to a nice C. What a change. If it makes you feel better about yourself - then why is it any different than braces on your teeth. Get a good doc - so look for a while and do some research. That is the biggest area of difference you will see is in the doc. If you think it is Ok then do it. Bunny "This is who we are" IP: Logged |

SassyS...I totally disagree with what has been posted....I got my implants 2 years ago and I couldn't be happier with my decision...I went from a B cup to a full D ...I'm 5'9" and 135 lbs so I'm in proportion. With working out and dieting as hard as I do I wanted the "total package". You won't find many women that aren't happy with their implants or if they really could go back to how they were before they actually would. Saying it is one thing but when it comes down to it, even those who have posted here, would NOT go back to their old breast size before the implant. If you have a figure, undoubtedly well rounded breasts are the finishing touches on your figure....this is just my opinion. IP: Logged |

Another guys opinion: I feel that implants on a woman that has worked hard and dieted is wonderful.. I love them. I am not even a breast man. I like a pretty face, flat stomach and a nice hard round butt. But I feel that if you have worked so hard on your body to make it look good, you should reward yourself with nice implants! You should keep them within the frame of your body though. A full C or small D (around 400 cc) is a good all around size for women. IP: Logged |

After losing 60 lbs. I went from a full perky D to a flat droopy B cup. I had a lift done and had implants to regain the roundness of my breast. Since you have been big chested before I think they will look great. No one can even tell I have implants. I've been working out with my trainer off and on for a year now and we got on this subject somehow. He said he thinks I'm lying about my implants. They look very natural because I have the skin to hold them. Go for it! you'll be glad you did. I am! IP: Logged |

RedHot, that's the exact thing I was looking to do. When my pecs started to come out, the flattened the top of my breasts and they just don't look "full" anymore. I was wondering if they would do a lift then wanted what I call a "half" implant (nothing too big, just something big enough to help fill out the top portion). I wanted to go back to my full C cup. And I'm certainly not going to lay off my chest workout, it's one of my favorite workout days. IP: Logged |

I was one of those women who was blessed genetically with large breasts. I developed early and always was larger than anyone. After having children that all changed. I miss them badly!!! Now that I have lost fat and am training hard, they are even smaller. I would love to have the surgery too mainly because it is harder for those of us who had it at one time and now do not. I have never been agains women who get breast implants as long as they get them for themselves. to feel good about themselves. and NOT to please other, or to get an advantage in certain industries. i know lots of women are born with small breasts, and feel less feminin than the ones with biger breast, and therefor gets a "boob job" and i couldnt be happier for them. but what do you girl think of the male counterpart? the ones that get something of theirs enlargend? is it the same thing? or is that diffeent? ------------------ http://home.sol.no/~mrmuscle/ IP: Logged |

I guess it falls into the same category. I am so obsessed with getting implants, it's crazy. I watch the other women in the gym more than the men do. Not for a sexual reason, but because I look to see who is real and who is not and am very envious!! I think, "I used to look like that!!!" But my butt was also three times larger too. IP: Logged |

However, i thouroughly researched my doctor & saw all his b4 & after pics, plus i know several girls who went to him....my advice is think about it long & hard b4 you do it....i did,& i went for 3 consultations over the last 2 years b4 i decided it was right 4 me...the way i look at it is that it is the one part of my body i cannot build in the gym... I certainly come into this conversation from a very different perspective. Sometimes I wonder if I even belong on this board. I am currently at my largest breast size I've ever been, and just manage to fill an A cup. Let me tell you it's tough to find a 40A!! When I diet down I think my breasts just look like a guys with a touch of gyno! But NO WAY would I ever have breast enlargements. There is no point in it unless I want a modelling contract (and I'm too old for that anyway) or to attract someone shallow enough to be worried about my breast size. On top of that, I'm sorta the 'sporty spice' type of gal. Large breasts would definitely interfere with my ability to rock-climb, backpack, kayak, jog, etc.... And what fun it is to never have to wear a bra and yet still have 'perky' breasts at the age of 40. Not quantity, but quality. But I guess you can't pine for what you've never had. I'll bet if I were a guy with an 'A size' I would feel the same way. I'd say, gee how nice it is to be able to wear short shorts and no underwear. LOL ------------------ IP: Logged |

Are you concerned for yourself or your boyfriend. If its your boyfriend then I say the hell with him. If he doesn't like it hes got two hands. If its for you relax take a break they will come back in time and probably be better then before. IP: Logged |

Oh yeah, that reminds me about my training partner. She's a 46 year old mother of 2, and competed for the first time last year. After losing around 30 lbs, she went from a saggy C cup to a really saggy (like an empty sock) 'A' size. I know, yuck. She was very dejected at the time (who wouldn't be) but I am happy to announce that she filled back out to a nice plump (full) B+ cup. Seems that several months without all that extra weight allowed her skin to draw back in and now it's as tight as it was before her kids were born. I've seen worse results with women getting a 'tuck'. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I had breast implants just over two years ago. I was an A cup and now a full C which works great with my body size. FYI.. there are two ways to position the implants under the muscle or over the muscle. If you want to go very large it is better to under the muscle. It will hold the implants better so they do not droop. However, if you go over the muscle it does tend to look more natural but you probably wont be a DD. I think the procedure is different for everyone. I know individuals that have had both done. All othe them love their implants. However, those that had them done under the muscle seem to have a bit more pain and recovery time. Myself I had above the muscle and was in no pain and had very minor bruising. No visible scars either. Just make sure and do your research with your doctor and make sure you look at his/her snapshots of clients. Look for those that are similar in size to you in order to achieve the size you are aiming for. I have no complaints and only wish I would have done it sooner!! Keep us posted on your decision. p.s. there are numerous sites that show the actual procedures for your research! IP: Logged |

Ok, now for another male response, although maybe not the typical male! It really is a personal choice, but from my perspective it isnt realy necessary... the first thing I always notice on a woman are her eyes and facial features, then being attracted to fit women, usually her arms, legs and/or abs... So in my opinion, I would rather date a fit, muscular women who is a little on the flat side, than one who is buxom and has no muscle tone... Now if you have lost them due to a low body fat, I guess I can understand it... but nothing looks funnier (in the odd sense) than a real lean woman with over sized breasts... just doesnt look natural... so if you do get them, I think they should at least be proportional.... My main concern is how does cosmetic surgery increase your self esteem? I think that is something that needs to be improved from with in, and if you have poor self esteem before, now you will have low esteem with a need for larger bras LOL Seriously though, educate yourself as to the risks, and concerns and then make your own decision for yourself and not to please someone else... I guess that was more than 2 cents worth, I think I am up to about 5 dollars on this message! IP: Logged |

hey fitchic, I must correct you ....you said if you go over the muscle it lloks more natural....that is the opposite of truth....under the muscle is far more natural looking...over the muscle only skin is holding it so when bf drops reasonably low, you see the roundness of the implant more IP: Logged |

well, my doctor recommended it for several reasons....heres why....the aereola is a good site for ladies with larger nipples---thats not me....through the belly button is not adviseable, correct placement is waaayyy to hard to do for even the most advanced surgeon, plus you run a lot of other risks that are unnecessary by doing that....through the undersuide of the breast is okay, but most likely leaves an extremely noticeable scar....hence the armpit choice....easy placement, minimal scarring, well hidden most of the time.... its a good choice.... well, I got round, but i prefer that look, i wanted the fullness up top, so that is a matter of personal preference.....my advice to you is to always ask for your bag to be overfilled....for example, say you want an implant size of a c, say around 450 cc's... ask for your doc to overfill a bag size of a smaller size, like a 440 bag----this will prevent rippling because the bag is fully stretched out.... Armpit is the way to go if you care about losing sensitivity in your nipples. I know several women who have had implants via the nipple, and they have lost ALL sensitivity. good doctors too. Under the breast is too much scaring. Also, the under the muscle is the more natural look. Listen to fitness chick. Pick up any muscle magazine and you can always tell who has them over and who has them under. The girls with over the muscle look as if someone glue'ed a canalope on them. Under the muscle, still looks fake, but much better overall. Preferrably, I don't really care as long as they are big, round, and perfect!!! :-) IP: Logged |

I had my breast augmented last March. I have always been fascinated with the idea that I could actually have breasts. Ihave always been an athletic looking girl, and thats a nice way to say flat. I was a 34 AA. I was actually an exotic dancer when I first left home for college and was commended by everyone that came into the club for not doing it. That sort of put me off for a while, then I did some research, went to a few doctors, and did it. I had round, because the teardrops tend to shift later. Smooth, because the textured ones tend to harden and cause tissue hardening around them. Through my armpit, and you can barely tell because the scar is tiny and falls right in the crease of my armpit. Under the muscle because it looks a lot more natural. 365 cc, which is a full C. And I am so happy with my decision. I have been told that they look real and My fiance agrees. As I said before, on another post, I got pregnant about a month after getting them and that really helped to make them softer and look more natural. Just be sure to do you homework and take your time. Just a little tip, if the doctor tells you he will not go over a certain size, you can tell he is a good doctor and wants you to look natural. So many people have made great comments that my doctor shared w/ me during our consultations. My doctor agreed to go UNDER the muscle as my bodyfat is low, and neither of us wanted that "balled" look of it being on top of the muscle. Yes, it took longer for recovery, but that was okay. I agree w/ Dawn. My doctor said he would not want to go larger than a full C because I was so lean. He said I really didn't have enough skin to stretch and such. I agreed. Now, I'm really glad I didn't go larger. I would look as if I would topple over, I'm sure.
