A little about me: Im 54 and 36 years old. Ive been training in the gym for the last 2.5 years (3 years in September). My goals over this time period have not changed. My intent has always been to lose bodyfat and grow big muscles. I consider myself 3 fries short of a heart attack on the serious scale in the gym.

Just recently, I decided to add anavar to my supplement regime and have some progress data to share with anyone who would care to know.

Didn't really see any changes in the first week on 5mg, but stuck it out
at that dosage for a second week and saw some major changes (ie, 40# increase
in my squats). Just for good measure I bumped the dosage up to 10 mg through
the third week and although I did not see much strength gains, did experience
a rather short fuse and started getting headaches. Mind you, I had also
started adding 10mg of yohimbine with my adipokinetix and suspect that the
headaches were bp rising. The headaches were pretty generalized over the course of three days, and then came to a climax in a hockey game. My legs felt like lead and my head felt like it was going to blow. ..probably on the verge of a heart attack. Also started experiencing muscle cramps during this period even though I was holding water big time. Bumped back down to 5mg on the fourth week and had some really good gains in strength (ie,
another 20# in my squats). Temper settled back down a bit and muscle cramps
subsided as well. Took a break from ECA and yohimbine for 2 weeks: started my period that week and didn't stop bleeding until 12 days later. Ever heard of that happening?? Cycled back on the
ECA stack with yohimbine ( although only at 3 mg ingested instead of 13!)in the fifth week and added morning cardio to my high protein (180 - 250 g), low fat, low carb (100 g +/-) diet that Monday morning-
the fifth week. Along with the ECA/yohimbine stack, I started doing topical yohimbine (10mg) desolved in dmso and applying that to my hips and ass either at bedtime or just before cardio. Lower bodyfat appears to be down and vascularity is improving in the legs. Now in the 6th week, I did my tape measurements and present them to you now:

Body Part 4/20 5/24
Shoulders 41 41 1/8
Chest 33 34
Left Bicep 12 12 1/8
(flexed) 13 1/8
Right Bicep 12 12
(flexed) 13
Waist 29 28
Abdomen 30
Hips 39 39
L Thigh 23 23
R Thigh 23 23
L Quad 21 20
R Quad 21 21
L Calf 13 13 5/8
R Calf 11 7/8 11
L Forearm 9 10
R Forearm 9 10 1/8

Total body weight 137# 141#

I probably wont go into a lot of detail on my weight routine but will tell you ...
In the second week I had a 40# gain in my squats
In the third week I gained another 20#
In the fourth week I was doing different things in the gym with a fellow BBer
Last week I had another 30# gain and havent done legs yet this week.

I think I'm going to have to break down and go buy new bras. Fortunately, I was given a healthy dose to start with and am only mourning a D-cup.

Thanks a lot for sharing this with us. There's a lot to contemplate in your results and experiences. Sounds like you had great results in strength increase, and modest lean mass gains.

The odd menstrual cycle is not a surprise. The only thing that you can say for sure is that most women on A/S will experience some disturbance to their cycle, from total cessation to unpredictability.

Hard to know what to make of your ephedrine/yohimbine experience. Ephedrine will cause an increase in BP, and Yohimbine can actually cause a decrease in some people. The mix is unpredictable and your headache could have been from change in BP (low to high?). Yohimbine has a lot shorter half life than ephedrine and concievably it could kick in first (causing a drop in BP) and then be almost out of your system when the ephedrine kicks in (raising you BP). Anyone who's ever suffered migraines might recognise this as a classic way to set them off! And if you're not used to large doses of caffeine or it's dehydrating effects then just ECA alone can cause headaches.

Muscle cramping and fluid retention?? Hmmm. Not commonly reported side effects of Anavar, but assuming your diet was in order I guess Anavar is a good candidate. I wonder if it's related to your menstrual disturbances. You know, SUPER Pre-menstrual tension? Yikes. Lets not dwell on it.

What other experiences are out there, WarLobo or whoever?

I really appreciated you sharing your anavar experiences JayeLynn. I'm getting ready to start mine in a few weeks so it was good to read about someone else's experiences firsthand. Keep us posted or if you want e-mail me with more info...I'm very interested to see how it goes

Good point on the ephedrine/yohimbine MS, I got to admit I do not like my wife using them much as she has had migraines in the past - like twice a year. And blood pressure does play an importaint roll.

This also gets back to my most basic point - and by now you all are tired of hearing it. Stacking when doing gear the first time is not the best way to figure out what it does to and for you.

On the up side, DAMN impressive gains!! Keep up the protein and train, train, train!

okay, I surrender. I'm going to give up on the thermogenics for the remainder of this cycle. I swear I feel like I'm at the end of my rope and something is going to have to give. I get my BF tested tomorrow morning and will report. Thanks for the words of encouragement lobo.

I ended my cycle last friday and took the following measurements this morning:

shoulders 42
chest 35 1/2
arm L 12 1/2 (13flexed)
R 12 1/2 (13)
waist 28 1/4
hips 38 1/4
thigh L 23 1/2
R 23 1/2
calf L 13 1/2
R 11 3/4

That signifies gains in shoulders, chest, and biceps. I saw loss in my waist, hips (hurray!) and both calves. Since I carry the majority of my subcutaneus body fat from the waist down, I think it's safe to say that's what happened in the waist, hips and calves. I'm thrilled with the gains upstairs as well; although I cannot lay claim to any gains in the bood department, they didn't shrink any more.

I didn't eat enough for either fat loss or muscle gains: I consider the number that I did get to be a small miracle. I'm definately looking more cut. My BF measured back at 15% this morning...haven't gotten on the scale yet.
