Antidepressants generally mix OK with A/S. If you're taking prescribed antidepressants you should ask your doctor for the complete list of all contraindicated meds. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I tried celexa, found problems with the stuff within 5 or 6 days, End of sex life. Switched to Serzone, no trouble except I have to take 250 mg twice a day which is high, but it seems to be working OK, I'll give it a few weeks to see whats up... IP: Logged |

Without doing a search myself, the most important side effects (other than drowsiness) that I recall were increased appetite/weight gain, increased thirst, and constipation. Probably not a good drug if you're trying to diet! But if it's working for your friend, then that's a good thing. I assume she's taking it for depression? It's also used (at a much lower dose) as a migraine preventative treatment. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Thanks MS. She has been complainng about them making her sleepy, so I told her to take them a around 8pm instead of right before bed. This has helped, I also mentioned that it may take a while for her to adjust to them. Late Lobo IP: Logged |

Yeah, that sound right. I seem to remember something like 2-3 weeks to get over that sleepiness before you decide the sides are too much to handle. I also think it takes a while for the beneficial effects to be notice. Sometimes up to 6 weeks? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Six weeks? WoW. Ok. I'll relay the info. Yah know MS, I'm starting to feel like I need to be a damn doctor. We have really had some wierd situations of late. I mean stuff I would have never thought about happening to folks Ah well just have to continue Late Lobo IP: Logged |

With luck it won't take that long. But tell her not to despair (anymore than she already is) before she's given it 6 weeks. Actually we don't need to be doctors at all. We just need to know when a problem/question is over our heads and tell someone to go to a real doctor (or two or three). Of course referral to a doctor is a skill that takes years to develop...... ------------------ IP: Logged |
