Anyone have any tips on preparing meals for the next day? I know we all are very busy with our days(especially you mothers out there!). I know that nutrition is the key here and with hectic schedules it is easy to stray and eat bad foods if our healthy meals are not available. FC, I read that you eat 5 whole meals a day plus 3 shakes, how do you do this? Any advice will be appreciated!!

I eat 6-7 times a day. I always prepare my food the night before. I cook chicken, lean hamburger meat, steak, turkey whatever I plan to eat, even the veggies and rice and put them in containers in the fridge. I make sure it is prepared ahead of time, this will prevent you from snacking on foods you shouldn't be eating. Planning is the key when it comes to eating healthy and consistantly

I eat 6 times a day - 2 liquid, 4 real food. I spend a few hours over the weekend preparing food for the week. I'll bbq up chicken breasts, cook up some lentil casserole, marinate veggies, bake spaghetti squash, mix up tuna and veggies (or whatever is on the menu for the week) Then the food is ready to go! I'm out the door at 5am and don't get home until 5:30 so my time during the week is really limited. Yes this takes time, good menu planning etc but it works for me. I'll even pre pack my food in containers so I can just grab it all, throw it in my lunch bag and go! ------------------

Wow, it's looking like I'm going to have to spend all my free time planning and cooking! It worked well when all I ate was boiled chicken, boiled eggs, and steam vegies. Now I wanted to add a little flavor and enjoy. Guess we can't have our cake and eat it to!

TG - my favorite squash (besides raw zuch) is spaghetti squash. Its easy - cut the squash in half, remove seeds, place face down in a backing dish in about 3/4c water, bake at 350 for about 45 until tender, let it cool then use a fork to pull out the "spaghetti". Great replacement for pasta - I put some marinara sauce over it with some chicken. Yummmy! ------------------

I just hate people with organizational skills. It makes life so much simpler!!! Just give me about 3 more hours in my day and I can get it done!! Anyway, ladies, post some of your recipes that you freeze and carry with you to work.

TG - I'll post some either from home tonight or tomorrow morning when I have my cook books...some fav's of mine have come from Susan Powter's cookbooks (I know I know, but her recipes are good) "Food" and "C'mon America Lets Eat". I usually tweak them a bit to add more veg and protein but they work well...I'll post some tonight or tomorrow. ------------------

STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!!!! I am laughing because I was a faithful follower and worshipper of Susan Powter! In fact she got me on the road to success to actually changing my lifestyle and getting into fitness. I owe the bald headed wench alot actually. It all worked great, but man all those carbs!! Whew! Whatever happened to her anyway? My daughter was asking me that the other day. They sat and watched all her videos with me and they thought she was a riot! Especially Shopping With Susan...that was the greatest ever!!! Yes, I am now revealing my dorkiness!!! [This message has been edited by Texas Guns (edited January 31, 2001).]

She kills me!! She might drive ya crazy but she has good points! Especially in "Food" because she talks more about how to get healthy through eating right, and not just thin. I can't do her no fat stuff she does in Stop the Insanity - but she's corrected that some in "Food". ------------------

Here's a great way to cook up chicken breasts in a hurry!!!! My husband hates white meat because he thinks it isn't tender but he loves this. Brown 4-6 breasts in non-stick skillet. (I use olive oil cooking spray) About 3 min. each side. Pour in 3/4 cup white wine. Let the wine reduce. Add 1 cup of chicken broth and herbs of your choice(tarragon, sage, rosemary, ect..About 2 tablespoons fresh or 1/2 tablespoon dried) and let simmer about 10 min. YUM!!!!! These are so tender and taste great on wholewheat bread as a sandwich.....(I have many more on my hubby's website)

Texas guns...My husband also has a discussion/informative bodybuilding website. I was going to delete that last part(Didn't want to sound like I was advertising for his site) but I was letting my daughter click the mouse for me so it made it up there. I just wanted to let everyone know I have alot of knowledge about healthy, high protien recipes that taste great! (I do all the recipes for his site) Husband's site is great but not many women post. I get tired of all the men. HAHAHA
