Is it safe to take roaccutane at the same time as taking gear? I've suffered with acne since teens (I'm now 27). Been taking tetracycline for past 6 years, my skin has been relatively clear for a few years now. I've recently taken a cycle of deca and made excellent gains. However this has obviously brought back the acne. I've been given roaccutane to take for 4 months but I didn't want to wait this long before taking gear. Any comments appreciated. Thanks!     | ||

Yes, I've been going to this dermatologist for many years. He knows that I have been bodybuilding for 3 years now, but he does not know that I have started taking gear. Thanks, | ||

I would like to do a winstrol only cycle. I've only done one gear cycle so far (Deca/50mg week) for 6 weeks. Many thanks, | ||

Most will say that you should not use gear while on tane, but I know a number of folks who do. I sort of hit the middle ground in that I would not take anything that would put additional stress on the liver. Winny would be in this category. Will you be getting regular checkup's on your liver? ------------------ Lobo | ||

Thanks, that was what I was hoping to hear:-) I had a liver check before I was given the accutane and all was fine. I will be on accutane for 8 weeks, then another liver test, then on accutane for a further 8 weeks. I was thinking about taking the winstrol in around 5 weeks time. I have winstrol depot as I figured this would be less stressful on the liver than the orals..? Your advice is much appreciated, thank you. Nico. | ||

I agree with WarLobo that you need to be cautious what you mix with accutane. The liver may or may not be a prob, but why risk it?? Also, are you taking birth control with the accutane? Oral birth controls can also add stress to your liver. But worse than that is adding in AS with birth control pills may make the birth control less effective. And as I'm sure you know you DON'T want to get preggers on accutane. But what I would be most worried about is the effect of accutane on your blood lipids and blood pressure. This stuff is bad enough without adding in AS that may also have a negative effect on your lipid profiles. All in all I guess I'm asking "do you really need to mix the two?" Can't you wait until your accutane course is finished before starting the AS? Peace | ||

MS, thanks for your comments. I'm not taking birth control. I'm single and not seeing a guy at the moment so pregnancy is not really a worry for me. I don't drink and my cholesterol is only 3.6. Although, I will take yours and Lobos advice and not mix the two, but I will do the gear and sort out the skin problem later. It's been 3 months since I finished the Deca cycle and although I've kept most of my gains, I really am ready to take something else. So bodybuilding comes first, I will hold off on the accutane. Most inj. testosterone esters and Deca are the least toxic to the liver. Perhaps Primo and EQ. Non are c-17 alpha-alkylated. Test is probably best. Its very rare that they are any toxicities reported in the literature in either men or women. F1 | ||

Exactly F1, which why I mentioned that many BBers have done the tane while on.... But like anything, one must KNOW the effects of the substance going into their body. Roids are not all the same. ------------------ Lobo | ||

Well if not on BC pills, and you can get hold of injectable esters then you really only need to keep an eye on BP and triglycerides, plus the usual liver tests that you should have on accutane anyway. Keep us posted. |
