I havent changed my exercises for back day, but I jacked up the weight, and I'm noticing that my ribs hurt on the side and front the next day...it feels like a horse kicked me in the ribs.

Is this normal? Back day looks like this:
pullups
one arm rows (ascending weight, descending reps)
SLDL (ascending weight, descending reps)
bent over rows

pretty simple, nothing fancy..I do deads on back day because I have enough to do on leg day and my back needs a little more work.

Hmmmm, going extra heavy on almost any exercise recruits a larger variety of muscles than lighter stuff. It's most likely your serratius muscles, or intercostals (or both) that you're feeling. That's a good thing. Sooo many women have poor serratius development so keep going heavy!

OH NO! STOP at once! Never lift heavy to stress muscles! You will bulk up and look like a man... Adding weight!?? What were you thinking girl!?! And to top it off you were using big, free weight compound movements?!

Say it aint so! Please go back to the machines and do high reps for days with two hours of cardio.

Love ya Kat :P

Sigh - Lobo forgot to take his anti sarcasm pill today...

I get sore in that area from the stupid ab wheel thing...I get sore there from back day too...listen to your body for the difference between "good" sore and "bad" (as in serious pain) sore. I think you are fine...make sure you are getting enough protein to help those fine muscles heal and enough rest to allow them to grow.

big muscles...coooool.

I was told that an old fart such as myself should be taking glut, so I have been, and I'm not as sore for as long, so I guess thats what its supposed to do.

Just curious, but why do SLDLs on back day. I do 'em on leg day for the hamstrings.

Nevermind..next time I'll read the whole post. My bad.

I've done a traing scheme were I work the back side of my body and then work the front side... very effective, and it lets you rest the back for a set while you do hams - or calfs.

Everyone always seems to slice up the body parts from top to bottom, why is this?

Am I the only nut here?

I want to be a nut too, pretty please. I've just started a traditional HIT training program that works every body part in one session. Nutty nutty nutty. But I agree Warlobo is the biggest nut in town.

Hey MS, I would love to see your HIT training program. Or if you could direct me to where I might find more info on it I would really appreciate it! :-)

You've got to be a brave or nutty male to open yourself up for attack like WarLobo does on this board. Be warned all you members of the weaker sex (and of course I mean the guys).
