Working a larger muscle group, glycogen depletion occurs faster. No sugars left in your system. Ive been known to be a puker on leg day. Have you tried keeping some simple sugar with you while working out? A piece or two of hard candy helps me. Also, if I eat IMMEDIATELY after working out, loading up the carbs, (help restore my bodys fuel)I am not nearly as sore.

Most days of lifting heavy for legs the puke factor is just a part of it. The first time it happened I was nervous and I didn't know if I could finish the routine, but I did, it was strong and it HURT. Just comes with the territory I guess, but definitely eat immediatly after, get the calories in. That won't help you during the work out, but it relieves and helps recovery for after. I get it too. i keep a container of tums in my gym bag, it helps me and also it adds calcium, so that can't hurt either.

Let Ole Ranger help ya out a bit....Okidoki... Now, your legs are extremely vascular, so when you really crush them during a leg work out. It forces blood from the upper body to the legs....supply and demand. What happens is your body goes into a mild form of shock due to this(physocgenic) and it happens to all of us at one time or another.... Ranger's Cure for this: Before you work your legs. About an hour before you head to the gym, eat hot dogs...YES, hot dogs...you know the ones....Ball Park Franks, the plump when ya cook'm fuckers... Now, take really big bites and try to swallow them without chewing if you can...I know you're wondering why....so here goes .... By doing this with the hot dogs, when you do hit the legs hard and ya gotta puke....the chunks will be too big to shoot through your fingers...that way you have the option of eating them again, or putting them in your pocket....might save ya from a little embarassment that way....heh heh heh Seriously, after doing a real hard set...go do some light, slow lat pulldowns, or cable crossovers to get some blood back in your upper body..... It's all good Darl'in..... Ranger

The legs are a very large muscle group. During very high intensity work, numerous metabolites are released (i.e., lactate, ammonia, H+, etc.) Once in circulation they play games with the brain and nausea is the result. That's why it takes a few minutes for that wave of nausea to hit after a high rep set. Once the muscle relaxes, all the metabolites wash out into circulation. F1

Ranger said it plain & simple----the legs, being the largest muscle group in the body, holding many blood vessels, pull the blood from the rest of the body during an intense workout-hence the lightheaded-ness, nausea, and other signs you just did a kick-ass workout!
