Can you give me some alternatives to leg presses? I don't have a machine and the DH won't let me spend $900 on one right now. I have knee problems and can't do lunges - what else can I do?

I'm going to give you one of the best, and most overlooked leg exercise's around...

Front Squats!!!!

Nothing isolates the quads better, you don't need alot of weight to achieve failure, and you must use perfect form or the bar slides off your delts....

Give them a few tries, you won't be disappointed...

Excuse my ignorance again, but what the heck are front squats? I would like to know because I want to learn as many ways as I possibly can to work my legs. As all of you always say, I want to keep my muscles guessing. That is so cool to say, my MUSCLES, that I now can see on my body. YEAH

AAAAAHHHHhhhhh, the front squat - (do 'em every leg day that emphasizes the quads, been hitting my legs twice in a cycle as of late)!

You cross your arms in front of you (put your hands on your shoulders), hold your elbows out and up, rest the bar up by your delts and squat till you be ill!

got it. thanks for letting me know what they were. They sound like a killer, but will incorporate them in my leg workout.
I have seen them done, but I had no idea what they were called.
have a great day.

How exactly do you get the bar on your arms? You must need a partner for this one.

Temple,

What kind of knee problems do you have? You said that you cannot do lunges because of them. How are you able to do the squats?
