Just thought I would let you know that what I have feared the whole time of my leg workout happened today. Yes, I was doing squats, and as I was going down-deeply I might add- my legs told me this, "We are in no way going to come back up, so just forget about it." I must say that I did it with grace though. No loud clanging on the bar that keeps you from killing yourself while you are doing squats. I just eased her down, and thought to myself, "Don't give up. At least you know that you were pushing yourself to the max, and you know you are going deep enough." To tell you the truth, that just made me want to keep working my butt off. I am sure that I will feel it tomorrow, or in the middle of the night tonight. | ||

Do you have a power rack at your gym? Next time just dump it. As in throw it off your back(who cares about the noise).

Good for you for not getting discouraged!! And I'm glad you were able to get out from under it without injury. However, I do agree with IG - better to make some commotion than injure yourself trying to get out from under the weight. But it sounds like you handled things just fine. I probably would have yelled for help!!! Picture skydancer stuck under the bar screaming "a little help here" LOL!! The guys that early in the morning know I'm serious and careful though - and probably would have been happy to offer some "hands on" help - hardy har har. Then given me some serious teasing!!! | ||

Yes, I think that is the thing that saved my butt. I am not sure what it is called. It is there on both sides to catch the bar if you can't get up. Is that what it is called, the power rack? I didn't know that. You learn something new everyday. Thanks for your words of encouragement. | ||

Grrooooooooooooooovy, same thing happened to me last week (for the first time too!)....I told you guys I was a creampuff!!! I was coming down for the third rep on my heaviest set and I just had to have a seat...it was pretty funny. My hubby was spotting me so we both ended up on our bums! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA! YOU GO GURL! ------------------ | ||

I did that on leg press once, thank god for the safety catches. Was just laaa laaa pressing away, then went too deep and next thing I knew, my knees were touching my face. Just like you, I knew I was going down, so I did it nice and slow. No spotter, but a girl who orks at my gym came over and started laughing at me.. it WAS funny. Worst thing was, she isnt a trainer, didnt know what to do, so I just had to crawl out. Also had the leg press machine flip over on me once. | ||

Good job Hun, Welcome to the club.Good to hear you are really pushing it. I remember the first time that happened to me.After it happens to you a couple of times Squats just are as a scary anymore. But dear ,you should have a spotter on your working sets.So you can push farther than last week confidently. And don't do cardio before your legs!!!!!It makes you weaker!!!!! WAY TO GO PUN'KIN | ||

Good Job Miss Thang!!! A squat ain't a squat till you can't get the fucker up!!! 'Scuse my language. I just get so hyped up when folks are training hard. There's this guy in my gym who only squats. No bench, no curls, just squat. Smith machine mind you, but ass to the ground, 4 plates per side, all day long!! He's got the ass to show for it too. Just goes to show, want buns-o-steel? SQUAT!!! Well, hopefully I will have the ass to show for what I am putting my body through one of these days. Won't ever get to four plates on each side, but I am going to give it my best. I also did stifflegged deadlifts with them the other day. I just learned how to do them. I was not sure if I was doing them correctly, but let me tell you, my legs are telling me that I did. They kicked my butt! YEAH!!!! | ||
