Have any of you ever tried any of those plyometric strength shoes? Results? Thoughts?

Are those the funky looking spring thingys that you wear like rollerblades? There was a gal that had them on yesterday and was bouncing around the gym. It looked goofy but also like fun.

They look like sneakers with a huge sole and no heel. I see ads for them in the back of hubby's mags. It always says stuff like "add two inches to your calves" It must be like walking around on your tippee toes all day.

Hmmm...well...not what I saw. These had these spring things that you bounced on...

Gadgets are gadgets though...ballet dancers have terrific calves and are on their toes a lot. More from the repetition of the releve' movement and not actually being on the toes.

Yep, probably just a money maker. I figured it would make em incredibly tired though trying to support all one's body weight on the ball/toe area. The calves would have to get a work out. But then it would only be one's body weight...maybe that in conjuction with a heavy calf work out once a week. hmmmmm..
Now you got me curious at to what you saw in your gym...

A friend of mine wore them everywhere he went because he had a serious calf deficiency. The rest of his body was great including his quads and hamstrings so it looked really weird. Everything he had tried before didnt work. Well after wearing these strength shoes for about four months his calves had indeed grown only an inch but it was a start. So he continued to wear them and worked calves once a week religiously and after two years managed to get his 11 inch calves to 19 inches. Granted two years is a very long time but it might just what you need to change the routine shock the calf to grow.

Just my .02 cents

Good Luck
