Mine do. Every leg day I try to go up a little in weight, though. Are you increasing your weight at all? Plus...how long are you usually in the gym on leg days?

hehehehehe. I'd have to say that your only routine that's working is your leg routine. Drop the Add/Abduction stuff and crank up the rest of your splits to make everything hurt like those legs. ------------------

Good advice, Vulf. I wanted to respond to this one too but didn't want it to come out wrong. How many sets, reps etc. are you doing on a specific body part (the ones that don't have some recovery pain?) Also, what's your intensity like? Are you using enough weight to fail at say rep 15?

Every time I see a woman using those worthless hunks of equipment (adductor, abductor whateverthefucktheyare) I want to run over to her, shake her, and yell, "THIS THING IS WORTHLESS!!!!!", slap her once or twice and then show her the way to the squat rack. hehe Everytime I see a guy on one of those things I scratch my head and chuckle. Does this make me a female chauvenist? Your upper body NEVER gets sore?.....NEVER?! Sounds like you could benefit from changing your routine (either the way you combine body parts or excersizes performed), crank up the intensity, throw in a couple of super, tri or giant sets on occasion and I think you will be good to go. ------------------

Leg pain is a world unto itself. I think part of it is we subconsciously know that our legs are stronger than the rest of us so we aren't afraid to pack the weight on the bar. I agree with Bmom if you aren't experiencing upper body soreness its time for a change up. Not that soreness is neccessarily and indication of a good/complete work out. But don't be afraid to go heavier for the upper body. Grab those larger dumbells and do a few reps...add 5 more pounds to what you normally do. You will see and feel a difference. I try to change my entire workout routine every 12 weeks or so.

Sportchic, how long have you been weight training? Are you returning to training after a lay off or did you just start this type of training? |
