Hi (I used to be Muscular Ecto ),

Did anyone see the MTV apecial on breast jobs? It was scary, so scary I decided to put my consultation off with a Plastic Surgeon. Here's my story..........

I did a photo shoot 2 weeks ago and was the only one with natural breasts(out of 9 girls). I felted pretty self-conscious. I'm not small by any means. 34c at 12% bodyfat. One of the male models said to me "you have a great body but if you want to do this(fitness modeling....totally different from fashion modeling, which is what I do on a full-time basis) you'll need to get bigger breasts". I was stunned then realized he might be right Look at Timea Majorova, her career has taken over since she got a D-cup.

Fitness Chick, I know you've gone through this procedure. Please tell me the pros and cons. What made you go bigger and what was your cup size before. Also if any other fitness chicks(pun intended~smile!)have thought about getting it done tell me your thoughts please!...........If I were to have it done it would be in my off-season(which is now).

Yeah, and don't use steroids if you have breast implants because it was cause them to explode, but only if you are eating pasta on a day you're not supposed to.

Didn't see the MTV breast implant special, but its probably typical media sensationalism backed by some alarmist group that is concerned about young girls getting breast implants.

With that said, breast implants are relatively safe. There are problems, some are serious, but they are infrequent. Much has to do with your surgeon. Budget operations yield budget results. I have several clients that have them and they love them. Wouldn't hesitate to get them again, in fact a couple are going to get larger ones.

My girlfriend went through two surgeries to end up with 650 cc implants. She started with nothing but nipples, now she's a D. At some point when silicone gets back on the market she'll go with 800 cc silicones. Personally, I can't wait

What I would recommend, as I recommend to anyone about issues like this or AAS, do a thorough literature search, get at least two opinions from surgeons, know what you're getting into and know what can go wrong. Then make the decision. The decision should only be yours and based on science, not the media's idea of what science is, or based on a handful of women who's surgery was botched. Believe me, there are many more satisfied women out there with implants than one's that aren't. But like anything else, shit can go wrong. Just be informed.

F1 covered it pretty well.

My girlfriend was a 34a before her surgery. She now is a 34D and very happy with her results.

The only side effect to speak of is some discomfort on some chest exersices. But that's only with heavier weights. She's still strong for a girl but she was stronger pre breast implants. She also wishes she went bigger but she didn't have the tissue to support larger size implants yet.

Do yourself a favor though and go to a good doctor. Ask people around your area that have them for advice on whom to go to. Ask to see the doctors work. Remember you get what you pay for...

From my own personal experience I am VERY happy!! I went from 34 B to a D cup. I plan to get them redone in the next year or two after I gain some more size and decide how big I am going to go. There have been no cons to my decision. Best decision of my life, I have no regrets and I will not hesitate when I decide to get them done again. Research and talk to doctors. Talk to women who have them done.. go to consultations and do what is best for you and do what you want to do!

Saw it, but didn't scare me at all. I suppose Im a bit "closer" to getting them than you, Model. I used to have 36C, now Im 37 small B or big A cup. Believe me, as of right now,it has become a HUGE issue for me. I'll take the risk, just to feel and look like a female again.

I have heard many people who have implants talking about having them "done again". Is this only because you want larger implants or is there another maintenance reason?

The website was www.siliconeholocaust.org. Geesh, if ever there was going to be some big propaganda campaign against breast implants this site takes the cake. I just went back and looked at the pics again---Lord help those women. The shock factor on that site is very high and in my opinion discredits it somehow. Let me explain.

There is no mention of the thousands and thousands of women that have had breast augmentation that are absolutely thrilled with the results. There isn't any mention of the successful end. There is not a lot of detail regarding why some of the women had problems. What are the percentages of those mistakes Doctor error? How many women had immune deficiency disorders to begin with? I'd want to see more studies. So much to consider. I truly believe that a good doctor is the difference between great results and bad results. I'd say have a boatload of confidence in your doctor and that's half the battle.

I agree with F1, research! I've had mine for about 3 years and not a problem to date. I am never sore when I work chest ( I went over the muscle) I only feel weird when I lay on my belly on a hard surface, but hey there's a foriegn object in my body. I don't regret it ever, and I'd do it again tomorrow. I went from a 34 a/b to 34 c/d. A suggestion: Go to a club that has a lot of girls with boob jobs (hooters, strip clubs, etc), and ask them about theirs. Most are very honest and proud, and if you can, try to feel them. I am NOT kidding, so please don't think I am a nutcase. That's what I did, went to a strip club with my friends and talked to the girls with the "nicest" ones. Most spoke highly of one DR. and I had a consultation. I waited for one year to decide and research, and I am glad I did. I have 430 cc in each, incision through the nipple (looks more natural). I didn't lose any sensation, and my hubby was worried about that. You can e-mail me if you have any more ?'s I can be so graphic.

Riptchick,

I saw that website. Those are true stories and pictures. Some of those women didn't have trouble with their implnts until years later(others right away)...... That's not the media that's real life!

JayJay, I'll probably email you personally. You didn't lose any nipple sensation(I'm definitely worried about that). Question if you were a 34c would you still have gotten your breasts done? My friends think I'm nuts! I might have to take my fiancee to the strip clubs to look at women breasts LOL!

My doctor would be Dr. Bruce Nadler. He's done the local fitness, bodybuilders, models and probably strippers breast augmentations. He comes highly reccomended. Maybe I should ask him about the side effects(i.e. scarring, ruptures, lupus, etc.). I wonder if he'll tell me the truth............

Don't worry about all the scare info.
You may want to check into the over filling. Most doctors over fill about 10% making the implants more round but with no wrinkles while standing. If you don't want to have wrinkles in the sides while bending over you'll have to go for about 20% depending on the size of the implant and the amount of tissue you have to start with.

There's the under/over muscle question. many doctors won't do under the muscle anymore. It's more invasive, makes exercise more difficult, and the recovery times are longer.

Anyone remember Dawn Witham? She's gone the same way with her implants as with bodybuilding(bigger is better). Here's a link to her web site. http://www.ctol.net/~dwhitham/main2.html

You'll also find a link to a site called 'Nicoles Breast Augmentation Info'(or something like that). It's a really good site for all kinds of info.

I've known women who have had many augmentations. The most important thing is choosing the right doctor. Look for one who is famous amoung dancers, fitnessmodels, bber's, transvestites for doing good work and your should be fine. Just don't get impatient, many of the best docs have huge waiting lists for the consultation. The worst thing seems to be post-op pain. They seem to give out Tylenol 3 but probably won't be enough if it's your first surgery unless the implants are small.

Model- I can't say if I would have surgery @ 34c or not, fake ones are a lot different than the real thing. A 34c naturally won't look as big as a 34c w/ implants because the implants are "perkier". It also depends on how you feel about your body, which is the whole reason why we do it. I wanted to balance out my frame, I've got a ghetto booty- and my natural breasts made me look unproportioned. I was very embarrassed of my natural breasts, so bad I never wanted to take my shirt off in front of my husband. He's a butt guy anyway.... It all depends on how you want your body to look. If you are unhappy with the size they are now (which is just fine by the way) and you want to have the surgery, it is the right decision for you. Look @ Pam Anderson, her early pics show natural breasts that are a perfect size, probably a c. Her life changed after surgery and he boobs became her trademark..they had a life of their own! J/K!!!! Make sure you have no doubts or regrets prior to surgery. :-]

Sorry I didn't answer sooner-I was away for the weekend...

I can say it was 100% worth it....the media always loves to stir up controversy...yes, as with any surgery there are risks involved, but by informing yourself & making educated choices & using a good surgeon, you can minimize the risks...what were my pros & cons prior to surgery

Pros
-Improved self image
-balance my physique out
-doc I chose did beautiful work(saw his portfolio, know many girls)
-help modeling career
-looks better in clothing
-breastfeeding okay

Cons
-could have complications during surgery(possible with anything though)
-$$$$$ 7600.00
-looks fake, problems, rupturing, replacing, capsulization, etc...
-judged by others???
-family(still havent told them)

In the end, the pros were much better then the cons...my advice-do all the research you can---dont listen to that MTV bs....find yourself a good doctor & talk to him...have him answer all your q's & then decide based on that...

check out this website for your q's....
http://www.implantinfo.com/

This is a great one......lotsa links http://implantforum.com/tips.html#cost

and this is my doctors homepage...check out the b4 & after pics & see what I mean about his work...i highly recommend him to anyone who can go to NYC for the surgery..

Hope I helped a little....let us know what you decide!
