I am tooting my own horn today. I had my bodyfat measured and it is 14%! No, I know that isn't spectacular, but this Friday my son will turn 3 months old. Sooooo.... I have gone from 5'7 @ 193 (prego) to 143 14% bodyfat( 3 pounds under pre-preg weight but I've lost a lot of muscle) in about 9 weeks of training. The first few weeks I did just cardio because of a c-section, then starting the first week of November I started weight training again. I also squatted 175 for 3 sets of 5 on Sunday. I am so happy Thank you for letting me toot. TOOT TOOT TOOT TOOT TOOT

Not for nothing and I don't mean to pee on your parade, if your BF is 12% you at that BW you must be quite a specimen. How did you get it done? What was your bf at your heaviest A true 10 to 12% for a women is veins everywhere - veins popping out of abbs and inner thighs. A true 8% is F'N shredded could you post a pic? IG

IG, I must disagree with you...vascularity is an individual thing-that bf level doesnt necessarily mean that you will be vascular...

It does if you have decent Muscle density and I consider 5'7 at 146 at 12% good density. So thou shall have veins ..so says the Iron God

I have to side with FC IG. I'm sitting at 13%: 5'4" @ 148# and I don't have veins sticking out everywhere. ..just a few in my arms and shoulders and they are little ones. ------------------

Now don't anyone take this as flame, but you all need you get your BF done for real, those worthless calipers can give a general guage on your bf and a guide to see if you gained or lost based on your previous results, but to get a true reading Submersion displacement is the only true way. IG

Even at 12%bf I have very thick skin (good for aging but not so good bbing) and the only time you see vascularity is when I am pumped and training.......I got photos to prove it! ------------------

Hey, the only vane on me that gets pumped at 12% is..... Oh, wait, I'm not on the chat board..... JJ, well done. ------------------ Lobo

*nodding in agreement* Vascularity varies from individual to individual and correct if I am wrong--and I am wrong alot so...I also think that it may be similar to predisposition in some like that of stretch marks. At 18% my chest and left bicep has little worms that are visible all the time. When I was even heavier and pregnant my left bicep still had a little worm looking vein running from my forearm to my shoulder. Hmmm.

Congrats Congrats doesn't it feel good! I too am very thick skinned and I have found very few people who can use a caliper on my quads. Even when I was young and a gymnast. They couldn't pull anything up into the caliper. It was like my skin was stuck to my muscle. I do however have a lot a vascularity in my forearms and the fronts of my calves (which is weird I think)

IG, I am not vein popper, my skin is very thick. It was one of the things I was scored against in the Galaxy. I was also measured with calipers, so I am taking it with a BIG old grain of salt. But hey, I don't mind the peeing on the parade! Just watch your aim . I don't have a scanner, so I can't post a pic and even if I had one I probably wouldn't know how to work the damn thing. I'll ask one of my computerly inclined friends to do it for me. Pre prego I was moving a lot of weight (for me) and teaching aerobics 2 X's a week as well as 2-3 hours of cardio weekly. My diet was very clean, as it is now, and I was using Xenadrine, and then 3 weeks of clen. I was also using GHB in the evenings and before my cardio, but I stopped that about a month before we decided to get pregnant (not sure it worked anyway). My husband, the sperminator "hit the target" on the first try... The veins in my arms only show when I'm pumped up, but I do get some in my abs, the front of my calves and my forearms like crazy! My trainer said that I would always have the thick skin problem, but according to BM it's good for aging, so I'll take my breaks where I can. I also didn't get any stretch marks, and since my belly was HUGE after gaining 47 pounds and carrying an 11.2 # 24" long child I find that quite amazing! I am taking a pic of me before I start my up coming cycle in either Jan or Feb of win-v. I am considering an o-course competition again in June. I apprecaite all the positive feedback and support. I really enjoy the posts, it's been very educational and motivational for me. I don't mind the peeing of IG either, I am a new Mom after all! It's all good to me! Triple TOOT TOOT TOOT for JayJay. And for IG, you, of all folks, should know that vascularity in women is mostly due to AS use. Us poor 'naturals' are doomed to poor vascularity unless we're very unlucky and have naturally thin skin (or gettin' old).
