use tylenol or anything to help with the post workout soreness. I am not a wimp - slept thru a two hour tattoo, did childbirth drug free but this is starting to interfere with my daily activities. I'm a sculptor and you can't sculpt when ya can't lift your arms. Any suggestions..just something to take the edge off. Lobo, I read about you and the valium and I think that is a bit extreme LOL. I also read that ibuprofen interferes with healing - is that true?

OTC pain-killers like IB-profen, tylenol, aspirin etc. are anti-inflamatories as well

that will interfere slightly with the healing process. as a sore/repairing muscle will need to be slightly inflamed to get nutrients and oxygen to it in the maximum amount.

I find that an IB-profen or 2 will do little to help DOMS. (delayed onset muscle soreness) I only use them for headaches.

VITAMIN C WORKS BIG TIME.
TRY 3 GRAMS PER DAY.
GIVE IT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND YOU WILL SEE A BIG CHANGE IN DOMS.
NO SHIT IT REALLY WORKS THE CANADIAN OLYMPIC TEAM USES IT FOR THIS DESIRED RESULT.

Temple, I get NASTY tendonitis in my elbow and I take 2 advil with some food and it usually helps. May not work for others, but when the pain in my elbow gets so intense , it wakes me up in the middle of the night, I have to take something!

Lobo,
Right now its one on one off, sometimes two on one off. Cardio 1 hour 3-4 times a week sometimes not that much. The soreness really sets in on the second day then day 3 it is almost gone.

I take 3-9K mg of C a day, and once in a blue moon I've been known to take an alieve to get the edge off the aches.

Try supplementing some BCAA's (3 capsules of Sport Pharma brand is what I use) post work-out. That seems to help >>a lot<<. Also go along with bumping up your vitamin C, I take 1gm in the morning and one after dinner. Another thing I've noticed to help a lot is Muscle Meals MRP for a post workout meal. I had been putting up with being in pain from one muscle group or another for a couple of years and finally stumbled across these items and have been feeling pretty good!
