I was just wondering if everyone keeps track of their daily intake of carbs, fats, calories, proteins, sodium, etc. I know it can be useful, but it seems to be such a hassle to do. Currently I don't keep track, I just "watch what I eat." I kind of estimate how much protein or carbs I eat a day and concentrate on eating more protein. I also don't measure out anything. Is this something I should be doing? Yes, I am trying to lose bf but I do want to have a life too. I guess I want to know if this is a must to get the wanted results. thanks everyone.

Try counting calories for a week or so. By then you probably will have counted the calories in the foods you eat most often. It will serve as a guage for eyeballing portion sizes and teaching you to know your limits.

It's a good habit to do. After a while you'll be able to ball park just about anything without a second thought. I was amazed at how well my wife could do this. All she needed was the weight of the food and she could get within +/- 5% no prob. Without knowing the weight, right around 10%. It was cool. Course dinning out is much harder as you don't know what they have added. But even then she did pretty well (sometime the restaurant would have the info). ------------------ Lobo

Thanks for the advice. I've been keeping track of everything for the last two days. I went to the M&F site and found some useful info to get me started. I tabulated that I should be getting about 1900 calories a day. I've been about 100 too few. But I did find I'm eating a lot of fat. Mainly from peanut butter, flax seed oil, and ranch dressing. I'm wondering if this find is what is keeping me from losing bf. It's not the calories. I have started to go for 45 minutes at least each cardio session (5-6x/wk). I was so pround of myself for burning 763 calories (according to the machines)the other day. If only I could everytime but I have to cut it short to go to work. I've been taking anavar along with my primo so maybe this will work. Thanks again.

You might be doing to much cardio.... Take a look at the cardio thread. Remember, building muscle is the key to long term weight loss.... Don't spend more time running than you do lifting! ------------------ Lobo

You still hangin in there LW? Remember that when a cardio machine calculates how many calories you burn, it is generalizing for a 150 lb. person if you don't enter your weight. Calories in> calories expended= weight gain |
