What I am talking about is, say you are benching. You do your first working set to failure and get 7 reps. Now you add 10#, that set I would get 6 reps. Add another 10# I would get 5 reps. The same thing happens when decreasing the weight. Drop 10# and I would get an extra rep. Does it work like this for you? Reason I am asking this is because a couple of people I lift with it does not work for at all. Some times if they just got 7 reps and go up 10# their reps will drop down to 3 or 4. Why is this? What can they do to not miss so many reps?

Hey man, when I'm benching it goes down by 2 reps if i add 5 lbs. For different exercises it varies though...obviously.

I don't know may be it's just me. If I add 10# I only drop a rep.

That's a good mass routine. BTW, does anyone here know where the phrase "rule of thumb" actually comes from?... In 19th century Britain, Men where only allowed to beat members of their families with canes thinner than their thumbs. Makes ya think, huh?
