I'm all ready to hit the gid tommorow. Our season lasts about 2.5 months and I was wondering what all you guys do for training during the season. I'm gunna try and keep it the same with maybe an extra day of rest. I'd try HIT, but I have trouble getting enough intensity during my regular workouts.

I used to do a 2 day a week program. One day upper body one day lower. I went to this because during the season you only want to maintain your strength, not advance it. I usually kept it to 1 to 2 exercises per body part, to work sets about 6-8 reps per set.

gameday in college was Saturday, so Mon I'd do 3 sets of squats so my legs would recover in time to run Sat...Wed I'd do bench presses and then power cleans, 3 sets each...thats all I would do during the season...I wouldn't try to break any personal records, just maintain what I had...also, If I started to think my arms looked smaller I'd sneak in 3 sets of barbell curls on Wed to pump them up.
