What's up guy's. FlexRich here just want to shine a little light on the plus's and minuses on wearing a sweater while workingout. First off it's great while your on supplement or whatever your on. Why? well, you tend to hide your body and you really can't tell the improvements that your making cause you can't see yourself in front of the mirror. Now lets say a month goes by and you decdide to look at yourself in the mirror, DAMN! I look good! is what your probably saying to yourself, I know I do. Also while working out with a sweater, you tend to sweat more of that unwanted water weight, it raises your body temp also. This helps when your trying to cut up or lose a little weight. One minus I find though in wearing a sweater is that, here in Rhode Island the temp. is about 95 degrees and when I am working out in the gym though, the gym is air conditioned, there are always a couple of newbies looking at you like some kind of FREAK, know what I do? When a person is looking at me I go up to him or her and look them up and down and I pause for a moment and then I say "Is my sweater bothering you? Here let me take it off, So I can FLEX ALL OVER YOUR CANDY ASS!" this works for me. They usually stop looking and they go on and do theyre 5 lb. dumbell curls. (LOL) I know there are some bodybuilders out there that will definetly agree with me on this, Let's here about your opinion on wearing a sweater while working out and have any newbies looked at you like a FREAK? P.S. Us bodybuilders love being called a FREAK.

You only work out in one shirt? Kewl! Ya, I wear a sweater a lot in winter cuz I workout in my basement where it gets a little cold. Then In the summer, i go to tanks or sometimes shirtless outside. Our weather here goes from one extreme to the other.

Hey, BK! I work out in my basement, too, so I REALLY need a sweater and sweatpants in the winter. It's only 56 degrees down there during the winter months! Summertime it's tanks and shorts.

yeah, i work out in my basement too. i like to work out in the nude. i have this huge mirror and in the middle of my workout, i dump gasoline on myself and set myself on fire and start flexing all over the place, and if that doesnt satisfy me, i smash 45 pound weights on my head bro's! best damn workout i ever had! ------------------

Hey Flex, Hope your kidding about the flexing all over someones ass part. Saw a national competitor go up to some skinny guy and get in his face about staring or some shit. Long story short Mr.National Competitor went on an unexpected diet from getting a 10lbs plate in the teeth. (Beside degrading people like that makes you sound like a punk-ass) But I guess Jersey Justice doesn't rule in R.I. As far as the sweat shirt I wear one,not for the sweat aspect but to keep my joints warm.

Whats up IronGod, I hope your not getting the wrong impression of me, I don't mean to sound like a punk but I just hate newbies at the gym who constantly stare at you like a Freak, As for the plate in the teeth, Is this guy still competing? Flex on this.

Hey Rich, Why not let them stare? Or what the point of getting big and freaky? Bottom line.. I do it to get noticed both by men and women alike. (that is one of the reasons I compete)I enjoy the competition and the attention. My body is a monoument to my dedication and hard work with the iron and I want it to be noticed by both the worthy and unwashed masses alike. So next time some newbie stares at you like your a freak, smile and enjoy it means your doing well.

I am a PL, and i keep myself under sweat top and baggies and sometimes a hoody too. I live in the north of Scotland, and there is no heating at my gym. COLD. I have to say i get pissed off with the peeps in the place who dress like it is some kinda fashion show. Bunch of poofs. The gym is a place of work . BTW..i also HATE mirrors in gyms. Everytime is see someone watching themselves in a mirror i want to destroy them. What else do i hate....mmm...Well, today i was doing snatches, reasonably heavy singles, and two guys actually put a bench within inches of the end of the loaded barbell, and proceded to do incline presses with some weird kinda wrist twisting movement with 30lb bells. Well....i put 30kg more on the bar, and then missed the lift.....as any Olympic lifter knows, a missed snatch is not a thing of beauty, and the two punks made a rapid exit stage left as the bar crshed to the floor in the space where there feet had been seconds ago. No one said a fucking word. Anyway, rant over.....have a good one fella's and stay covered up...if you find the energy to look at yourself in the mirror mid set...then you aint working hard enough. Cheers. G.
