I've been lifting hard all summer. Next week I plan on taking a much needed week off. During this week should I rest completely or would cardio be a good idea? I have not done cardio all summer. Do some easy stretching that week off but besides that, I would rest completely. Even though cardio is less srtessful on the muscles, joints, and ligaments than weights, any kind of cardio still puts stress on the body. For optimal muscle growth, your muscles need to fully recover.
