Bruhz, Can someone gove me an Ab routinoe for definition. I can't seem to get a six pack no matter how much ab work I do. Normally my routine includes crunches, leg raises, cross-crunches 2-3 times per week. I do them until I feel the burn but no results, zip, nada. I have come to the conclusion must be training them incorrectly. Any suggestions? oh and is it true that training obliques will only thicken them and give you love handles?

Cardio and diet are the keys to a 6 pack. Don't know bout thickening and giving you love handles though.

You need to realize one thing first - training abs does not give you the six-pack alone - you need a proper diet considering your weight, body consistense, level of activity and so on. The first point - burn more calories than you eat. It does not necessarily mean to count calories of each meal, but you gotta eat smart. For example, eat decent portion of carbs/proteins for breakfest - your glycogen stores need to regenerate, so you don't have to be worried for gaining fat from those carbs. Also the only time for eating simple carbs is in the morning and post workout - the worst time for them would be in the evening... there is many many more of these, but you have to try all the time to find out what works for ya. And yes, training abs helps to achieve that sixpack, but in the way it makes the abs stronger and thicker (also depends on how you train them - low reps/weighted exercises or high reps marathons). Another important point in this is that you need to ged rid of a certain amount of fat all over your body to see that ab-pack in the daylight. my opinion. Mylo

listen to Mylo; with a good diet and cardio in addition with heavy low reps, you will see those suckers in no time!

Just remember, not everyone can have a six pack. An the guys are right, your can't rely on mega reps to cut away the little fat that would be left. Cardio is fundamental for good abs. My routine is simply supersetting crunches with leg raises.

Right, BK. I like this routine too - Attack the abs with crunches till I can't move and immediately continue with leg raises - I like lyin' raises more than hangin'. Remember, you can do much more crunches than just stop at the first burn. Mylo

Personally,I've gotta use weights/resistance or my stomach just looks smooth. I mostly use cable crunches, weighted decline crunches and knee ups.Once a week just like any other bodypart.I definitely pay the price this way.
