Not considering while you are working out.
How many calories does it take to sustain
1lb of muscle?

ALL THINGS CONSIRED IT TAKES 50 OR SO CALORIES TO KEEP THAT LB OF MUSCLE.

ADD TEN LBS. OF MUSCLE AND YOUR LOOKING AT LESTS 500 CALORIES.

DID YOU EVER SEE A SKINNY-FAT MARATHON RUNNER. THE REASON FOR THIS IS THEIR LACK OF MUSCLE.

THIS IS WHY ALL FAT LOSS PROGRAMS SHOULD INCLUDE AEROBICS ALONG WITH WEIGHT TRAINING.
PROGRAMS THAT DON'T ARE GUARANTEED TO FAIL.

50 calories are impossible!
That means that if you weigh 200lbs and 1/2 of that is skeletal muscle, it would take 5000 calories to keep you from loosing it.
The FDA recomends like 2000 calories. If this is for a 200lb person then the 1lb of muscle's consumption would be more like 10 cal. Anyone got any real concrete info?

I would say that it is around 12-13 kalories per pound of muscle, but it depends also on your body composition (and your metabolism). I had it once counted by an expert (at least I consider that person an expert), and it was like this: At 185lbs, 5'11", around 13% bodyfat 2160 kalories... Mylo

Each pound of fat has about 3500 calories and a pound of muscle has 600 calories. The more muscle you have on your frame, the more calories you'll burn. One pound of muscle burns 50 calories. Each additional pound of muscle burns an aditional 50 calories.

It depends entirely on your thyroid performance. 40-50 would probably be a good guess. You've gotta be pretty big to be 50% muscle.
