I have to do cardio 4 to 5 times a week for fat lost in addition to my weight training. Problem is, after I do a leg routine, my legs are sore for about four to five days making me unable to run, use the treadmill or bike. Are there any alterntive cardio that don't require legs? IP: Logged |

yes, but....the legs are prime movers of the body and thus have the most muscle mass. they burn the most calories, thats why running, biking, walking etc are so effective. i know they are damn painful after a workout but you should just take a day off from cardio after leg day and then some light biking on the third day to flush out the muscle. by the 3rd day you should be able to hit it fairly decent. im not sure about the intensity of your cardio but if its too high, try lightening up and going longer. i know i didnt help with any alternatives, sorry, but there isnt really anything like using your legs. one option is rowing but you still hit your legs good there too. You could try swimming. When I ain't in the mood to run I hit the pool for a little while. IP: Logged |

Quit whining and start running, just warm up very good and stretch. It should help decrease the soreness also by loosening the muscle up. IP: Logged |

The leg movement is the primary source in a good cardio exercise, try stretching after you do your cardio routine, if soreness conitnue try stretching and holding in place for a two to fivew count for a miximum stretch this might relieve the soreness somewhat but not all. This is where the old saying applies "NO PAIN, NO GAIN". Flex on this. ------------------------ "An intense burning desire to achieve any goal" Body Movement IP: Logged |

wannabe, when do you usually perform your cardio sessions? if you usually do it in the morning, you can switch on those days and do it after weight training when the body is warm and loose. if you do it after weight training you can switch to doing it in the morning after you do 2 sets of jump squats and 2 sets of sissy squats to loosen up the legs. if that still doesnt work rub some tiger balm on your legs 20min before your cardio and youll feel fine. hope that helps...good luck bro sourjerkkkkkkkkkkkkkk IP: Logged |

If your calves arnt that soar, do some skipping. It's not too demanding of the quads/hams. IP: Logged |
