I was wondering, I have been working out pretty hard lately and, something strange I think is going on, I am not getting to sore the next day but two days after lets say a chest workout my chest is really sore, like the soreness you get usually the day after, is this usual?

No matter what muscle, but especially legs, I'm most sore 2 days after. I don't know why.

If only your chest is getting sore the next day then my question to you is how long have you been working out for? I mean years? Are you new to bodybuilding? Don't mind the too many questions but I just want to better understand your situation, I know some guys when they take off lets say two weeks from the gym the next day their muscle groups are sore, this is very common. Just keep in mind next time you do chest if your looking for Mass then Load up the Barbell with some plates, big time. Try incline seated dumbell flyes and decline for an overall chest workout, Look up Kevin Levorones chest workout on his website for some awesome results, try incorporating your own chest routine.

DELAYED ONSET MUSCLE SORENESS IS AT IT'S PEAK TWO DAYS AFTER YOUR WORKOUT. THREE GRAMS OF VITAMIN C A DAY AND ONE ADVIL(OR ANY IBUPROFEN PRODUCT) BEFORE YOUR WORKOUT WILL MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. SHOOT FOR THAT FEEL AND THE MUSCLES WILL RESPOND BIG TIME.

To reduce the soreness I have found that strecthing the muscle being worked (between sets) helps. I also find the second day is when I feel it most. Try the stretching......

I would change your routine/exercises more often. When my muscles stop getting sore the next day I just change my exercises for that bodypart.

I find when I'm training on my heavy days my soreness come 2 days down the track, when I'm on my light days the soreness is closer to the training day ... check out what kind of routine you are doing ... but to answer your original question, yes its perfectly normal. ------------------

Every body responds differently. Sometimes I am most sore the day after...other times 2-3 days after. The more you focus in on the muscle group you are working (mind-muscle connection) the more intense your workout will be. And generally speaking, that creates more soreness. Remember that soreness is not necessarily an indication of a good workout..its just that feeling we all love so much!! ------------------ |
