Im 5'8 170 and been stuck at 245 on flat bench for about a year. Its really pissing me off how my chest is'nt getting any stronger. Im about to start one of those power bench charts that are supposed to add 50 lbs to your bench. My question is, is benching EOD or every 2 days too much? I know you need at least 1 days rest to grow, but is EOD too much? I really want to kick my chests ass!! IP: Logged |

Yeah that would be too much. If you're doing the musclemedia add 50lbs to your bench then you're only supposed to do bench twice a week. Like on Monday and then Friday. If you do the program right that will be plenty believe me. I've had some success with that program, but it's usually more like 20lbs than 50. IP: Logged |

Yeah I am using musclemedias chart. I know they said twice a week but I just wanted to see if more was OK. I guess I'll stick to twice a week, but I'm getting impatient. IP: Logged |

jsut remember a big bench doesnt mean shit if you dont got the rest hooked. ------------------ "...damn you for not giving my TEST" - Metallica "After this show i'll be fat and happy again.....If i make it to the show...." - Lee Priest "Lets put some weight on the bar.." - Shawn Ray IP: Logged |

Twice a week works great for me. I use to hit chest every 7 days, but found it to be too much rest. I think you got a pretty good bench for 170 lbs. What is your chest work out like? How many reps and sets? IP: Logged |

Yeah bro, you are benching 80 pounds over your weight, what's the problem? I KNOW BEING STUCK SUCKS, are you doing any incline bench? How about changing shit up every once in a while for a few weeks, sometimes dropping the weight and adding more reps for a few weeks can be very beneficial, worked for me. IP: Logged |

you will never improve your regular bench if you dont improve your incline and close grip first.concentrate on those lifts and your bench will soar.. sourjerkkkkk IP: Logged |

dude what the hell is wrong with 245 on the flat bench i doubt i could even do that much. i only do incline bench and dips so if i attempted flat bench it would be weak i bet IP: Logged |
