We've been having the discussion here at work about the benefit of Reverse Curls. Some here maintain that it "thickens" the bottom portion of the bicep and works the upper forearm area while others think that the exercise is worthless and of no value to a "mass building" workout. We knew that you guys would be the ones to ask, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

P.S. Love the site and the info. Keep up the good work!

first one..definately..what else is there to say..it will buid your forearms like hell, at the same time it will build mass on the lower part of the biceps..something us guys with short bicep heads need.

I agree with that!!!

Reverse Curls are definately not worthless. It sounds like the guys that you work with that think that they're worthless are either doing them incorrectly or they haven't done them at all.

I agree that reverse curls are a worthwile exercise. Another variation you might try is to use a thumbless grip on an ez curl bar and once your fatigued with that grip without stopping the set just switch to a full grip until failure there also.

Reverse curls hit the wrist extensors as well as the long head of the bicep.

It works your brachialis which if it gets bigger will push out your biceps. It is untapped upper arm mass.

I think reverse curls along with a set of incling hammer curls are a great way to finish your bicep routine... adds in that extra burn.
