Take some steroids and be scott steiners partner in WCW. seriously. try new things and see what works best. good luck and leave a 2 day gap before a wrestleing practice. don't give up and be agressive. ------------------ ![]() ![]()

I just watched a program on the discovery channel, about one of the wrestling schools and how things worked,it seemed the guys from wcw wwf ecw looked at a persons character first, then size and wrestling ability. So i would suggest working on a unique character something that will catch peoples attention. ![]() ![]() ![]()

pretty much a power lifting routine, with emphasis on military press, shrugs, deadlifts, and good mornings... you need alot of power to pick people up and slam them all over the place... work on strength first worry about physique later, itll come with power... ps.dont forget your weekly 1000mg shot of test.... testosterone,it makes a man out of bitches.. literally... sour j e r k.... ![]() ![]()

Hey Steelheart.I happen to be a pro wrestler. It's all about looking strong and how big your upper body is.The odd guy (myself)has big legs.Focus on conditioning. For legs do 20-rep squats. Also do hindu squats. Those are no weight squats.Just squat down and jump up.Don't just stand up.Jump up. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks guys, My training is always towars strenght, but its my stamina and cardio I'm worried about. I did 15 reps squats 3 sets and though I was goona pass out!!! But is 3X 30min cardio enough or should I do more. My legs dont have too much stamina so maybe I should focus on higher reps. What Im worried about is the training to get started I hear alot of people cant finish it. I WILL finish it though. I got heart hence the name Steelheart! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey, Steelheart... I wrestle professionally in the midwest. Every training center/school is different. I play the lead heel in my federation, and I'll tell you, appearance is key. Wrestling a 20 minute match is tiring... but I don't do any cardio. My in ring training is enough for me to build my endurance. I train for sheer appearance. I train to get bigger, and leaner. I just wrestled a show for 2,000 people... and I'll tell you it's funner than hell to insult the crowd, tell them they're fat and ugly... and that I am the man. They throw drinks and shit at me after I beat the shit out of the lead face. It was awesome. I focus on arms... like Steiner. Just not as BIG as he is. But even though strength is important, if you wrestle a guy who knows what he's doing... he really helps you out on your slams, suplexes, etc. I'm wrestling a 350 lb monster this Saturday. And I can suplex him, and hold a scoop slam on him no problem, as he knows how to move his body weight. In any move, it takes both men to do it succesfully. There isn't one man "doing a move" to another. It's team work all the way through. So I train for size and look. Not power. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

When I trained there was a kid who weighed maybe 170 lbs. yet he could slam the 285 lbs. assistant trainer.Personally I've found running, steppers, etc. don't do shit.Hindus are the only thing I do.Another thing is that with all that heavy power training you'll pound the hell out of your joints and wrestling definately beats up your joints. Not a good combo.Nowadays I stick to 8-10 reps.Like Val said and I said appearance is what matters.Nobody knows how much you can lift. By the way who is training you Steelheart? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Its a place out here in Montreal. They run the icw promotion I beleive. I start camp in Sept. I thought I needed a lot of cardio to overcome the try-outs. It is a 10 month course that I am attending. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I suggest finding out, either from someone who has been there, or from the camp itself... what time of program you need to pass. Like I said, all schools are different... mind wasn't really all that bad. I do no cardio whatsoever. But was able to pass their program no problem. Wasn't too tough. Some are terrible. Get some basic info on it, if you can... and we'll have a better grip on what needs to be done to get you ready. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

SteelHeart: COngrats! I have a couple friends in the wrestling business, and I recieve e-mail from time to time on what they have to do and how hard they have to train. Here is what I suggest you work on: 1) Endurance. I mean Run a couple miles with weights 2) Endurance. Run another couple miles with even more weights! How many weightlifters get out of breath on the ring! NONE! 3) Practice and become flexiabile. You have to be able to move pretty darn fast (agile)specially when your trying to qualify. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Work more on explosive lifts, as today's matches are fast-paced and short (3-7 min). I heard most wrestling schools make you do hundreds of hindu squats, but since you're doing a small-time promotion, it probably won't be a big deal as long as you look good. I also heard the wrestlers with high endurance (HHH, Benoit, etc.) don't eat anything three hours prior to a match, that may help endurance. And be prepared to be in a lot of pain, wrestling is very hard on the body. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I do a minimum 150 hindu's daily.I do as many to failure then rest 30 seconds,go to failure, rest 30 seconds, until I get to my goal.On my first set I'm usually good for 75.The most I've done is 350 but I could barely walk for 2 days.I'll add that these hindu's aren't the same as the WCW Power Plant hindu's.The Power Plant requires you do 1000 but if you've ever seen them on TV they are just free standing deep squats. They don't require you to jump. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
