For those of you that do HIT training. How many sets do you do? I read 1, 2, and 3. What do you think I should go with? ------------------ IP: Logged |

You should always do two to three warm up sets, with reps up to 15-20. I believe it only takes one work set that is taken to absolute failure. On the last rep you shouldn't be able to lift the bar half way, not even 1/8 of the way. You should always use a workout partner. I recommend doing three exercises per major body part and two exercise for smaller body parts. This is an example from my workout. After warming up, I rep out to failure doing heavy dumbbell flyes, then resting no more than 30 seconds I move to the incline bench press and rep out some more. Then after that I wait about 45 seconds to a minutes and go to the Nautilus Vertical Bench Press. This is quite a workout and then I'm done with chest for the week. I keep my reps at 6-10 for the upper body, 10-15 for lower body parts, calves 12-20, abs 8-15. I do ab exercises extrememly slow, keeping the burn. You should change your routine when you see no more strength gains or muscle gains. Hope this helps. If you have more questions, please ask. Note: I do not train the traditional HIT way. I train Mike Mentzer's way. Heavy Duty training, but it's basically the same concepts. For more information on HIT, check out this HIT site: www.cyberpump.com ------------------ IP: Logged |
