I STARTED RUNNING UPSTAIR SPRINTS AT OUR LOCAL BOAT LANDING. ALSO ON THAT DAY I DID SOME WEIGHTED LUNGES(15#) AND EXTENTIONS(35#) 3 SETS OF 12 EACH. FELT IT THE NEXT DAY. THIS IS FOR A NEW ROUTINE I'M TRYING, ANYWAY... THAT NIGHT I HAD A GAME AND AFTER I RAN TO FIRST, I ALMOST COLLAPSED FROM THE PAIN IN MY LEFT UPPER THIGH. YES, YES YES, I WARMED UP FOR A GOOD 15 BEFORE THE GAME. NEEDLESS, I CAN BARELY WALK TODAY AND IN MUCH PAIN. QUESTION IS NOW WHAT? I KNOW THIS ROUTINE CAN HELP ME TRIM THE FAT OFF THE THIGHS BUT NOT IF I CAN'T DO IT. HOW THE HELL LONG DO YOU ESTIMATE BEFORE I CAN TRY THIS WORKOUT AGAIN? AND IN THE MEANTIME WHAT LEG EXCERCIZES CAN I DO? IP: Logged |

Just wondering but do you think you might of just cramped up, that could be it, but that would feel more in the quad. Make sure you drink enough water. IP: Logged |

you either pulled a muscle or cramped up. like above drink lots of water and next tiime save the other exercises after your baseball game. it almost like shooting your self and not expecting to bleed. you cannot work out then go expect to sprint. Stretch also. IP: Logged |

You could of crampt up or strained a muscle like they said. Either way, you overdid it!Take some time off, a few days or maybe even a week. If the pain doesn't go away, I suggest you see your doctor. In the meantime, watch your diet so you don't gain allot more fat on your thighs and take warm baths or showers. The warm water will help relax the muscles. And, like they said, drink allot of water. There's no way any of us can estimate how long it will take you to recover. We don't know how much pain your in and we don't know what kind of damage has happened. The best thing to do if the pain persists is to take a break and rest. If you push it, your injury will get worse. I recommend stretching if you can. Stretch with low intensity when you wake up in the morning, when you get home from school and before you go to bed. I always do this and my legs are always relaxed. Stretching is probably the best exercise you can do injured. I also recommend vitamins and minerals. Eat veggies and supplement with multi vitamins and minerals. It may help your tissues recover or heal faster. I recommend supplementing with vitamins and minerals year round. Also, if your leg gets really sore, take hot baths. Try to use heat pads on the injured spot. I hope that you didn't have a serious injury and I hope you recover soon. Good luck. ------------------ IP: Logged |
