What is a good mass building rep / scheme? 5 x 5 do you pyramid the wieghts or stay with the same wright through out the set. I' ve been working out for years to no avail. I guess I'm doing something wrong. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I would stay in the 6-8 rep range and do 4-5 sets. Do 1 set of 8, 3 sets of 6 and possible 1 more set of 8. I would stick with the same weight when doing sets of 6 and then when you can do sets of 8 with good form at that same weight, I would move up 2 1/2-5lbs. depending on what your gvm has available. --------------------------------------- Train.........................(S)mart IP: Logged |

Especially if your new to weight lifting you shouldn't do too many sets (more than ten) because it can lead to overtraining. You can make good gains on 6-9 sets per body part with 2 different exercises. It works well for me. IP: Logged |

I've been at this game for a few years now. I'll stick to the 4-6 reps range. It seems to work well. I was just curious what everyone else did. ------------------ IP: Logged |
