I've been having trouble building my lats at home with just free weights. The only 2 exercises for the lats with free weights that I know are the bent-over rowing, and one-arm dumbell rowing. Plus there are chin-ups. Do you guys know of any others that work the lats with free weights? IP: Logged |

lying straight arm pullovers are a great pre-exhaust superset excersise.Just ly on a bench and hold a humbell overhead by holding your palms against the inside plate. Then whilst keeping your arms straight, lower the weight behind your head to full stretch and return to centre.Keep it slow and controlled, and take deep breaths on each rep.Make sure the collars on your dumbells are well tightened! as soon as you finish a set go staight into one arm dubbell rows.Good luck. My back is my best bodypart. I train at home but I have more equipment then most. I usually use deadlifts, chins, d.b. pullovers, barbell rows, d.b. rows, and I also have a cable stack so I can do cable rows and pulldowns. I feel that you get the best results with free weights, so if you can string together 3-4 of those exercises and hit them hard you should get some growth. Just be careful to use good form and make sure you are squeezing your back muscles on every rep. ------------------ IP: Logged |

When questioning exercises and needing changes to my routine I refer back to an exercise book by Bill Pearl. "Keys to the Inner Universe". Bill has illustrated exercises for every body part 200per part. It is by far the best book for working out. Cost of $35 is worth it. IP: Logged |
