I do abs 3 days a week. 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 2 off. however if they are sore or feel tired i will opt to do them just twice a week. this depends on my intensity. some days i can absolutely kill em and they need the extra day of rest. i am blessed with gifted and talented abs so i am able to work the fuckers fairly hard frequently. as for weighted, cable crunches are my favorite. i love them. they work very well. I do mine twice a split. So I do them twice every 5 days and I don't lift on the weekends. I'm not sure, but I heard doing them at the end of your workout in the morning works them hard. ------------------ IP: Logged |

no, i dont do weighed ab workouts..this is my ab workout right here: I always start with lower abs becuase lets face it, they are the hardet part to get ripped. and also the part thet get mostly neglected. i do 2 sets of hanging leg raises, supersetted with knee tucks. i do reps untill failure..wich ususally means 15 reps or so. then we move to the obliques, here i also do 2 exercises, but no supersets. first i do side crunches (http://www.gymamerica.com/www/exercise/demos/demo_popup/0,1976,321,00) 1 set in each side. followed by alt side crunches. the ones where you lay on you back, and bend one knee and place the ankel on the other foot on it. Finally, the upper abs, these uscles usually needs the least work. i do 2 sets of crunches. All sets are to failure..and you should sqeeze for a three count on the top of every rep, that way you wont be able to finish ore than 15 reps max... ------------------ "...damn you for not giving my TEST" - Metallica IP: Logged |

I'll always do weighted ab workouts, twice a week. You get the same amount of work to them, in half the time. 3 sets weighted leg raises, 3 sets cable crunches. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I never really worry about my abs too much. I train them once every 10-12 days. The only time I train them more than once per week, is when I'm cutting up. You can train them more. The ab muscles can recover quickly. If you want to bring in your abs, train them 2-3 times per week. If you train them 3 times per week, don't go over 6 sets. Listen to Mr.Muscle, he has great info. Always start out with lower abs, then obliques, then upper abs. If you want your abs to show, it's all diet. If you eat like a pig, and even if you train your abs the right way, you still won't see them without a proper diet. Good luck bro. Keep lifting. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Remember not to neglect your cardio and diet as well bro. if you want ripped abs, cardio and diet are the Alfa and Omega..doing cardio on an empty stomach in the morning burns the most fat...but also straight after yur weight training will do the trick... ------------------ "...damn you for not giving my TEST" - Metallica IP: Logged |
