a lot of things happens, which i know as a powerlifter, you can loose strength once in a while if its only for a couple of weeks hen dont worry, but i miht want to go away from the execises that you are geeting weaker in and do something else for a short while.

it can allso be because you trainthe same bodypart heavy more than once a week, very few powerlifters i know do that and those who do is using a/s

Hey Bluesy, this brings up a ?. Im not on AS, I train all groups once a week except for abs(3x). Ive noticed the same thing, my bench went from 315 2 sets of 4 UNassisted(not spot). Last Monday I tried the same thing and I needed a spot big time for both sets on all 4. I cant help but to lift heavy every time Im in the gym. Granted, some days are better than others, I cant always lift as much for whatever reason. But this time it felt different, like I was weaker or had lost something. Im wondering, am I do'n more harm than good by always go'n heavy, I dont always max, but I always go heavy. Ive heard you should only go heavy like once every 2 or 3 weeks, but I cant help myself. I get in the gym and something takes over. Im afraid I may have plateaude. Ive tried changing up my routine but I still seem to be in a rut. As a powerlifter can you give any advice on this.

sometimes the reason wht you feel weaker somedays is the glucose level in you muscles is lower than usual; this can happen from altaring your diet. even if it is the smallest change it can effect you energy level.my suggestion is to look into that, and caculate you daily intake and make sure that you muscle glucose levels are always at its maximum. a good diet for this is the anabolic diet. if your weakness comes from absolutely no change whatsoever, then theres a change that you have plateaued.

you aint doing anything wrong by doing maxout every week, ecept it wont help you build muscle, but i like to take a few weeksa where i go light a couple of times a year, when i go back to train heavy i have lost some strength but it comes fast again, and even more.

i can give you an example, my db benchpress is normally 6 rep with 36kg dumbells, but at the moment even though im on my first cycle of a/s i can only do 4-5 rep with 34kg, but every other exercise (allso on chest) is a lot stronger, it can allso be because you train that specific execise to much, go away from it for a couple of weeks, and then go back and see what happens, it allways do the trick for me.
