What do you think about running the day after a heavy leg work out? Too much on the legs or depends on what you can handle?
Would you break down the muscle by not letting the legs heal after heavy squats?

i dont know about most, but the day after, im shot. as i am on the second day after. the thing i do is hit some light cardio after my leg workout to flush out some of the lactic acid and stretch. i would hit up the bike or maybe run a bit a couple days after. just depends on what your priorities are. mine are to let my legs grow as much as possible so i rest them alot. nothing to say that running will hinder your gains, just something i avoid.

i always do light cardio the day after my leg day. helps me get able to walk properly again stretching is also important.

as to the running question. i used to do athletics, i was a sprinter. and i had to do lotsa running the days after my leg workout. now, i know i didnt put half the effort into my leg workouts as i do today...cuz today i wouldnt even think about doing sprints the day after...id pull a muscle just thinking about it.

Depending on how old you are may make a differance as well. I am mostly talk about your knee joints here. Even though your muscles may be able to handle running after a day of squating, the knees may not. I had to space any cardios workouts at least two days after a squating days once I started getting signs of knee pain. That did the trick for me.

I would go easier on the legs. Usually after my squat days, my legs are done. I can't do cardio for another day or two. Go easy on the legs, don't over train them.

After a leg day, you may wanna swim. Its easy on the joints and is one hell of a cario workout.
