![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I was a sprinter in HS and am training now for our college team. 400 hurdles and 200. MrMuscle was right on with explosive training. Power Cleans are a necessity to get that explosion out of the blocks along with squats. Squat with heavy weight, come down slow and power yourself up as fast as you can. When I say come up fast you should not be able to come up in less than a second or else your not using enough weight. Also bent legged deadlifts help up your speed, these are also a must. Make sure you get all the technical stuff down too, I use to overlook it but started doing it and has helped tremendosly. Like running 200 yards and kick fast with your right foot, then come back kicking with your left. Stuff like that. Also I know it sounds weird but don't run too much, like every other day if possible. I know in season the coach runs the shit out of you everyday but I convinced mine to let me spend every other day in the weight room. Hey if your overtrained your not going to be moving as fast as you could. If you have any questions or want more advice drop me an e-mail. [email protected] IP: Logged |
