Today when I worked out I decided to use lighter weights than usual but higher reps. I did a lot of supersets with only 30 seconds between supersets. I started to feel like I hand to vomit and almost passed out. This happened to me before about a year ago when I first started working out. Does anyone know how to prevent this? IP: Logged |

Make sure you are exhaling when exerting force. Alot of people hold their breath. Holding your breath will make you feel just like that. You may not even realize you are doing it. Another thing might be you need to eat more. You could get dizzy from not eating enough, but if you are working out you prob pay attention to your diet at least a little bit, right? Um, just over exerting yourself maybe? Heat exhaution? Dehydrated? Try to pay attention to every thing next time it happens, I'm sure you will figure it out. But if it's none of these maybe you should ask a doctor. IP: Logged |

Thanx Samuel for the advice. I use to eat a big breakfast before working out but I heard that this wasn't good. Now I may only have a glass of apple juice w/creatine and maybe a banana before a work out, Is that bad? IP: Logged |

Um well what kind of creatine? if it is pure creatine and nothing else, im pretty sure grape juice would be better to drink with it. I remember reading you should take carbs with creatine, there goes my memory again, hehe, read up on the creatine. Oh one other thing i've heard of people getting nautious from creatine. Cell Tech from Muscle Tech made me nautious, upset my stomach, and also very acidic, burnt my throat. IP: Logged |

I should imagine you just over exerted yourself. I have taken new people to the gym and they felt like vomiting after a short while. It's plain and simple over exertion. For example, I pulled an 8.5 ton truck for charity on Saturday and I felt like chucking afterwards! I eat like a horse and creatine doesn't upset my stomach - I felt ill because I had over done it. The only thing I can recommend is that if you want to do light weights (why?) then you need to build up the reps slowly. IP: Logged |

I sometimes get woozy if I eat within an hour before a workout. It also depends on what I ate. Without knowing more, like what your routine is, it is hard to say what could have caused it. Possibly low levels of nutrients like potassium. One thing you may watch out for is dehydration, by the time you feel thirsty it is too late, you are dehydrated. Make sure you are drinking small amounts of water during your workout. Remember to drink even more water if you are taking creatine. just make sure that you aren't eating anything or drinking carbonated drinks an hour before you work out, that will make you sick, also just working your ass off will cause that ------------------ IP: Logged |
