I currently lift about 4-5 times a week and do 3 sets of 12,10,8 reps for exercises. in July I will lift for mass until the end of July then go back to my normal reps and sets in August. I'm only going to lift for mass in July for hockey and because I know of some pros that lift for mass in that month. Anyway how many sets, reps, and what percentage of the weight I can lift should I do? Thanx.

3 day a week program.

1: chest, shoulders and tris

2: legs

3: back, bis and traps

abs somewhere in the middle.

Lift heavy- 6 to 8 rep range, 2-3 sets, 2 to max of 3 exercises per bodypart.

Eat and sleep.

I too play hockey and train for it. Make sure you hit your lower back and forearms as well. deadlifts and reverse curls. very important, especially the lower back.

Has anyone tried doing hockey lunges? They're like regular lunges but instead of stepping straight out you step out at a 45 degree angle. It works the legs in the same form that a skating stride would. Also it gives you a good burn.

My coach has a mass routine he told me about today at practice. He said he'll give me a copy, probably at our next game. If ya want a copy of it when I get it, email me and I'll hook ya up with it. What part of the country do you play at and what position?
